OIC Participants' 2016 Eisa Performance at URASOE TEDAKO Festival/浦西青年会の協力によるJICA沖縄研修員とのエイサー
Under the guidance of the Uranishi Youth Association, 22 JICA OIC participants and some JICA OIC staff practiced the Eisaknown as Okinawan traditional drum dance for a brief 3 weeks to perform at Tedako festival, which is one of the biggest summer festival in Okinawa on July 24th, 2016.
On the day of the festival, we showed our performance in public and enjoyed a lot the seasonal traditional summer event in Okinawa.
Performing Eisa for their first time, the participants had some difficulties how to dance,,, But as you see, they performed very well! Through the performance, all participants could deepen their understanding and admiration for Okinawa traditional culture. We hope do a dance together once more some day.
Lastly, we'd like to say to Uranishi Youth Association our gratitude for enduring guidance and dancing together at the festival for our great OIC participants.
浦西青年会による指導のもと、JICA沖縄の研修員22名とJICA沖縄の有志メンバーは、浦添市てだこ祭りで披露するべく3週間の短期間でエイサー技術の習得に励んできました。そして、迎えた本番当日、研修員たちは思い思いにエイサーを演舞し、沖縄の風物詩である夏祭りを精一杯堪能しました。
生まれて初めて体験するエイサーという踊り。慣れずに型を覚えるのに苦労したものの、沖縄の伝統文化に触れ、また一つ沖縄への愛着を深める機会になったと感じ、またまったく不慣れな研修員たちを辛抱強く指導、そして当日も一緒に踊っていただいた浦西青年会の皆様に、改めて御礼申し上げます。ありがとうございました。

33rd Urasoe Tedako Festival was held from July 16th to July 18th, 2010. The festival took places across Urasoe city.
Street stalls of foods, drinks and amusement gathered a crowd of people. There are many summer festivals in Okinawa.

33rd Urasoe Tedako Festival was held from July 16th to July 18th, 2010. The festival took places across Urasoe city.
In ancient times, Urasoe was called Ura-osoi. Literally this phrase means Attacking various villages and refers to Urasoe being a center of rule for the region.
The Ryukyu Kingdom was created at the end of the feudal period in Urasoe and then transferred its base to Shuri.
In Urasoe Sandai Outou Matsuri, citizens performed traditional dances, parades and plays based on history of Urasoe.

On the 2nd and 3rd of November 2019, Global Festa Okinawa 2019 was held at JICA Okinawa. This annual event, co-hosted by Okinawa Prefecture, Urasoe City and Okinawa International Exchange and Human Resources Development Foundation, marks the 24th years and became one of the biggest event on international cooperation and exchange in Okinawa. This year, the festival attracted more than 6,150 guests. The guests enjoyed talking with the JICA OIC participants, strolled many booths related to international exchange and cooperation, and tasted the cuisine of the world.
This video shows the highlight of the festival, the World Dance and Music, Choir, singing performed by overseas participants, Okinawan music and EISA Dance by Maeda EISA team.

「てぃーだ＋こ」太陽の子という意味になります。
音楽に合わせた花火です。
競技スタジアムが埋まる大きなお祭りですので行ってみてください。ステージ前でカチャーシーしている人たちもいますよ（笑）

On the 7th and 8th of November 2015, Okinawa International Cooperation and Exchange Festival 2015 was held at JICA Okinawa International Center(OIC). This annual event, co-hosted by Okinawa Prefecture, Urasoe City and Okinawa International Exchange and Human Resources Development Foundation, marks the 20th years and became one of the big event on international cooperation and exchange in Okinawa. This year, the festival attracted more than 4,600 guests. The guests enjoyed talking with the JICA OIC participants from 65 countries, strolled around 30 booths related to international exchange and cooperation, and tasted the cuisine of the world.

JICA OIC participants and ONA staff danced Yokai-Taiso / JICA研修員と沖縄県看護協会スタッフが「ようかい体操第一」を踊りました
On 20 August, JICA Okinawa participants of Strengthening Health System for Maternal and Child Health through public health activities for Spanish speaking countries (A) course and the staff of Okinawa Nursing Associations(ONA, implementation organization of the course) danced Yokai Taiso Dai-ichi (Monster Exercise - No.1) at the farewell party of the course. Yokai Taiso is ending theme of the big hit Japanese animation of the year 2014, Yokai Watch.
This is the second time the ONA danced the Yokai-taiso at the OIC. Please compare with the previous YouTube video and see how the dance performance has improved since then!!
2015年8月20日、「公衆衛生活動による母子保健強化（スペイン語）（Ａ）」の研修員と研修委託先である沖縄県看護協会のスタッフが「ようかい体操第一」を研修終了閉講パーティーで披露しました。研修員にとって、最後の良い思い出ができました。
今回、沖縄県看護協会が閉講パーティーで「ようかい体操」を披露するのは2回目。前回のYouTube動画と比較すると、よりキレのある踊りになっていると思われます。
