Touring Quito, Ecuador - Markets and the Equator! - Dāv Kaufman Vlogs
While in Quito, Ecuador, I tour a really awesome market and do some shopping, then continue to tour the city, ending up at the famed mitad del mundo or middle of the world and stood with one foot in each hemisphere at the same time! Quito is by far the most beautiful city I’ve toured in South America!

Escaping the Canadian winter in QUITO, ECUADOR
Come along for the ride as we travel from Ottawa, Canada to Quito, Ecuador and then spend the day touring around an amazingly vibrant city. We visit the Middle of the Earth, Basílica del Voto Nacional, and do a walking tour of Quito's Historic District.
Myself and an INCREDIBLE team of Carleton students spent a week in Ecuador, participating in Community Service Learning through Me to We. Our week included tourism, experiential learning, and construction work. We laughed, we burned, we ate, we played, we dug and built. Most importantly, we made meaningful connections with each other and the community we visited.

Daytrip from Quito Ecuador to Otavalo City
Otavalo is a town that’s easy to reach from Quito. About a 15 minutes local bus ride from the Otavalo town along the old railway tracks, you can find the beautiful waterfall of Peguche.
We later went to Cuicocha which is a beautiful crater lake located right beside Cotacachi mountain. We took a boat tour to explore it!

Traveling is embedded into our relationship as we met on a Spring Break cruise in 2016. Since then, we haven't stopped traveling together in the United States and abroad. We left New York in July 2019 to travel the world and we took work with us. We have made it our mission to slow travel for 16 months throughout South America and Asia.
Traveling Atlas was created to capture our moments of taking risk, building connections, and seeing the world. We will be staying in each country we visit for about a month in order to experience cultures to our maximum capacity and to inspire others that they can do the same. We are Brandon and Erin, follow the journey and stay tuned.

ECUADOR: Quito and Baños | Vlog 26
Backpacking through Ecuador. Exploring the city of Quito and then visiting waterfalls in Baños.
After 1 month in Colombia I moved onto to Ecuador. I spent a couple days in Quito exploring the city and enjoying the nightlife. After Quito I went to Baños where we rented bicycles and visited waterfalls including the famous Pailon del Diablo. I also hiked from town up to Casa del Arbol (about 2 hours hiking uphill). If you visit Baños definitely take a rain jacket!
ABOUT ME: After 6 months in Asia I (Ryan) decided I wanted to travel more so I flew from my home in Trinidad & Tobago to Colombia to start backpacking South America. I do these videos as a way of documenting my travels so I have something to look back on in the future. I plan to upload 1-2 videos per month. Feel free to subscribe and follow along.

Quito's Central Market: the TASTY & the BIZARRE | Where to Eat in Quito
One of the best places for food in Quito is undoubtedly Mercado Central, or the Central Market. It's conveniently located in the historical district, and it's filled with cheap, traditional Ecuadorian food. Get your breakfast or lunch there and you won't be disappointed.
I took my time exploring the corners of the market, looking for some interesting dishes. I certainly found some. There's a booth that serves a sort of baked cow fetus stew called la bille. If that doesn't sound appetizing, how about some cow udder with rice? The very best thing to eat in the Central Market is corvinas, a crispy fried white flesh fish that's flaky and filling. It comes with roasted potatoes, shrimp ceviche, and some toasted corn and popcorn. It's a lot of food, and for only $6. The fish is the best part, of course. Even if you're not really into fish, try this dish. It's almost closer to fried chicken than it is to the fried fish you'd get with fish and chips.
Even if you're not hungry, pop into Mercado Central if you're in Quito. It has a great history. It's got a lot of interesting things to look at. And it really is one of the best places to watch people. Grab a fresh fruit drink - I recommend the guanabana with some alfalfa, but there are numerous combinations. The lady I went to was really pushing the naranjilla with alfafa. Muy rico!

Quito Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Quito in Ecuador.
Quito, otherwise known as the ‘divine city’, is the capital of Ecuador. It is a Spanish colonial city and Baroque gem surrounded by volcanic mountains, its historic centre having been built on the ruins of an Inca city. La Basilica is situated on a northern hill and is one of the city’s most monumental buildings measuring a hundred and forty metres long and thirty five metres wide. It is one of Quito’s earliest religious buildings and its construction began in 1892 when, a century later, it was consecrated by the Pope. The basilica is an architectural symbol of an autocratic Catholic church which dominated the country until the Liberal Revolution of 1925. The former Inca city subsequently became a splendid, yet strict, religious settlement of the main religious orders. On the northern side of the plaza is the Palacio Arzobispal, the Archbishop’s Palace. Its size and location highlight the prominent position of the Catholic church that continues to be of great importance today. The Catedral Metropolitana is situated on the opposite side of the square and is the result of various building epochs. The ancient town of Quito with all its alleys, buildings and courtyards is a gem of colonial architecture and monuments such as the Arco De La Reina, a kind of triumphal gate, still adorns the metropolis. But, above all, there are churches everywhere. Indeed, in one single square kilometre are sixteen religious buildings. Quito is truly the ‘monastery of America’. The former capital of the northern Inca realm became the most Spanish city of the New World and today, churches, monasteries and squares continue to gleam in all of their colonial splendour. The remarkable legacy of a rich and dramatic past!
