Miniature Bucharest
Man is the kind of species that loves miniaturizing. Since childhood, creating and collecting small objects, organizing them in a certain manner, man realizes that this is the way of easily dominating this miniature universe that is still uncontrollable. This project tries to offer a new perspective of perception of the urban space in Bucharest, giving the viewer the possibility to see an entire city in miniature, to see it shown and forwarded through an uncontaminated vision, to understand that the city is a living organism that can only survive if all its elements function in an organized manner.

Un hidden Bucharest II - Lucian Nita aka KSELEQOQYNQYSHY mural
Lucian Niță is the author behind the visual project KSELEQOQYNQYSHY (Casele cu Ochi Închiși / Houses with Eyes Closed).
Lucian Niță is one of the winners of Un-hidden Bucharest Open Call 2018, creating an outstanding mural graciously hosted by the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest, Bd. Schitu Măgureanu, nr. 9.
The author illustrates a fantastic world, full of imaginary symbols and characters. KSELEQOQYNQYSHY presses a visually-aware journey, transposed in a ludic manner, offering “viewers” a colourful experience combined with elements of mysticism.

BRUCE LEE: Romania's Tunnel King
After the fall of Romania’s brutal communist dictatorship – is an underground world of sewers and forgotten orphans. This underground network of sewers is home to the city’s lost and forgotten souls, most of whom have HIV and a quarter of whom suffer from TB. Bruce Lee, this underworld’s king and primary drug dealer, is a complicated figure. He keeps the underground supplied with a metallic paint called Aurelac that they inhale to get high and with other synthetic drugs. However, the fearsome orphan and former street-fighter also pays local gangs for protection and protects other young orphans who have fallen through the cracks. Social workers say that Lee protects the youngsters from sexual predators and that junkies are far less likely to die when Lee offers them a warm place to sleep.
The sewers are remnants of communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu’s grand plan to centrally heat the city. Although this plan didn’t work out, the ruined infrastructure gave the orphans who were forgotten after the fall of his dictatorship a place to live.

STORYLINE:
As European Agriculture and Fisheries ministers meet in Luxembourg, farmers in one of the European Union's newest states say making a living off the land is not easy.
Many farmers have tiny plots of land and do not have enough money to buy modern farming equipment, barely surviving on subsistence farming.
Romanian farmers are set to get 443 (m) million euros (699 million US dollars) from the EU's farm budget for 2008 in direct payments.
Romania, a country of about 22 million, joined the European Union in 2007.
The country has a large agricultural sector, and half the population lives in rural areas.
One farmer who lives in Adunati Copaceni' a village 25 kilometres south of the capital Bucharest told AP Television he would like to be able to expand his business.
This is a family business and we would like to develop with the help of EU funds. If we know how to get them, we could build modern greenhouses to EU standards, Ion said.
Romania is one of the European major agricultural producers and farmers depend heavily of subsidies from the European Union.
Many younger people have left the rural areas for a more urban life.
Marin sells cheese at a farmers market in Caligareni outside Bucharest. He sells many people leave town to do their shopping in the villages.
There are people from the capital coming to buy...it is much cheaper here in the countryside, he said.
One man filmed using a horse and cart to collect hay in a field seemed determined to continue on.
Food is now much more expensive, but as always we try to survive. he said.
