At least 12 dead, dangerous animals on loose in Georgian capital following flood
Flooding in Georgia′s capital has left at least twelve people dead and twice as many missing.
On top of that,... animals have been running loose from Tbilisi′s damaged zoo.
Heavy rainfall caused a river, which flows through the city, to break its banks and sweep away buildings and cars.
Tigers, lions, wolves are among some of the animals that escaped damaged cages in the city′s zoo,... and while some have been captured,... many are still roaming the streets.
In an unusual scene,... a hippopotamus was seen plodding through the street but was later tranquilized and take somewhere safe.
Local residents have been warned to stay indoors until all the most dangerous animals are accounted for.

RESCUED: 78 Animals Living in Squalor
HELP US HELP THEM! Donate now at
Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACT), in cooperation with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, is rescuing 78 animals from horrendous, filthy conditions on a property in Wright City, Mo. The rescued animals include 16 dogs, 8 cats, 23 rabbits, 24 chickens, three ducks, two mini LaMancha goats, one potbellied pig and one Cockatoo. The animals have been living in their own moldy, accumulated waste for many months and had only very limited access to food and little to no clean water. Most of the dogs were living in a feces- and urine-filled, trash-strewn trailer on the property; some may have been used for breeding. Many of the animals appear to have external parasites and other veterinary problems such as skin, eye, ear and respiratory infections. ACT Investigators believe the animals have had little to no veterinary care.
