Utstein Kloster - The Abbey of Utstein

The Abbey of Utstein in Mosterøy is today a museum - course and conference centre and there are concerts in the summertime. Construction of the Abbey started in aboat 1260 and it worked as a monastery for the Augustiner munks in the medival time. The island of Mosterøy is a very beautiful island situated in Rennesøy municipality - The Abbey can be reached by car 25 km out of Stavanger -

English: This video was made at a island at sout-vest country of Norway it shows something of the more modern agriculture in Norway. Its now three forage harvesters on this island, and the neightbourisland who is bigger have noone, only balles and small foragers. Filmed at Mosterøy in Rennesøy municipality and in the next videos, we will bring the show to another island nearby, Utstein. The farm at Utstein is bigger than the other and have a nice look with the ocean and Utstein Kloster in the background.

Det er nå tre fôrhøstere på denne øya, og naboøya som er større har ingen, bare baller og små finsnittere. Filmet på Mosterøy i Rennesøy kommune og i de neste videoene, vil vi bringe showet til en annen øy i nærheten, Utstein. Gården på Utstein er større enn de andre, og har et fint utseende med hav og Utstein Kloster i bakgrunnen.

UTSTEINkloster

Only separated by a tiny canal, linked with a small bridge, we find Klosterøy, neighboring island to where I live. Here`s Utstein Abbey situated, and this is Norway's best-preserved medieval monastery. It is located on the island of Klosterøy in Rennesøy municipality. It was built in the late 1200s. Utstein Church is located on the grounds of the abbey. In 1900-1904 major restoration work was carried out on the church, and in 1965 work on the remaining buildings was completed. These renovations put it in a position so that the buildings now serve as venue for concerts, seminars, and conventions. This is approx. 30 min by car north of Stavanger.

The pictures are taken in Mosterøy in Rennesøy Municipality near the Stavanger area, and in Stavanger itself. Stavanger is a Norwegian city in Rogaland (a county).

Fishing Rennesøy, Part 1 - Central Vikevåg (FjordFish Adventures #4)

Catching a lot of fish in this one, from all sorts of species. A lot of gobies, wrasse etc. Fishing in the beautiful town of Vikevåg, on the western side of it's bay. Using one simple technique; splitshot and small hooks with a piece of gulp on. I can use pretty much anything, but the goldsinny wrasse are voracious predators, and the gulp seem to last slightly longer before they tare it to shreds.
