Tensha Park Uwajima - Ehime - 天赦公園 - 4K Ultra HD
Built by the seventh feudal lord of the Uwajima domain, Date Munetada, also known as “Shunzan”, Tensha Park is a small garden located in the center of Uwajima city. Date Munetada used it for his own personal pleasure as a place for him to rest during his retirement.
Loved by Date Munetada, this little park takes its name after a poem written by Munetada. The poem goes as follows :
“I spent my younger days on a horse for battles, now the world is peaceful and my hair has turned gray, my aging body exists here because God in heaven forgave me and let me live.

Japan Travel: Taga Shrine believed to grant fertility Uwajima, Ehime, Japan
Taga Shrine (多賀神社, Taga Jinja) is located north of Uwajima's city center. People pray at the shrine for longevity, good health and in particular, fertility. The shrine's claims to popularity among foreign tourists are its fertility related objects of worship, including about two meter long wooden phallus displayed alongside the main shrine building. Such explicit fertility objects were more common at shrines across Japan in the past until puritanical values from the West led to their removal around the Meiji Period (1868-1912).
There is a museum next to the shrine hall. It displays the priest's collection of international and domestic pornographic materials. Items on exhibit include adult oriented illustrations, ukiyoe and objects from various regions of the world and eras of history. Minors under the age of 20 are not allowed entry.

Japan Trip:Uwajima Bull Fights overwhelmed Uwajima, Ehime, Japan 24 Moopon
Uwajima is one of nine locations to watch bull fighting in Japan. Uwajima Bull Fights (宇和島闘牛, Uwajima Tōgyū) are held on five days per year in January, April, July, August and October. In domed bullring located on a small hill, huge cattle which weight more than one ton smash into each other.
The competitive bulls are categorized in a similar hierarchical structure as the wrestlers in sumo, each with a rank that befits their performances in the past. The rank names imitate those applied in sumo with the exception of the highest ranked bulls which are named champions rather than yokozuna. In addition, there is a middle weight and a heavy weight class difference in bull fighting, unlike in sumo where there are no weight classes.
At each tournament, around ten matches are placed at the Uwajima Bull Fighting Arena on a hill just above the city center. The arena has a roof, allowing the fights to also take place in rainy weather. The event usually starts at noon and last about three hours, although the day could go on longer because there is no time limit for each bout. The arena offers a shop where drinks and snacks are sold. It is also possible to go inspect the bulls outside of the stadium as they wait for their appearance.
The two bulls are introduced and walked into the arena by their trainers Before each bout. Some crowd favorites have their tailor-composed theme music played, which adds to the spectacle. The stylized tone used by the ring announcer further creates a lively atmosphere. A match starts as the participating bulls lock horns and ends when one of them runs from the fight. Needless to say, the bull that does not flee is declared the winner. The trainers of the winning bull are then presented with a flag and a trophy to the applause of the spectators.
Matches can be short, but typically take several minutes and sometime over half an hour. At times one of the bulls does not show any fighting spirit and is declared loser without any action happening.
Access info

Japan Trip: many interesting events in nostalgic town. Ozu, Ehime, Japan
【021】Ehime Ozu Old Town
Subscribe link :
The city of Ozu grew as a castle town during the Edo Period (1603-1867). Like many other cities, the city experienced a period of westernization during the Meiji Period (1868-1912). Today, the old town around the city center retains an atmosphere reminiscent of bygone decades, with nostalgic stone-paved alleys and quaint houses of both Edo and Meiji Period architecture. Although they are not open to the public, many old merchant houses and samurai residences remain in the area,
A castle wall lines the river north of the old town for several hundred meters, stretching from Ozu Castle in the west all the way to Garyu Sanso Villa, and reminding of the extent of the castle’s influence during the feudal age. Just south of the walls is the Ozu Redbrick Hall, a remnant of Meiji western architecture. The building functions as a gallery and resting place for tourists was originally a commercial bank.
Access info
Ozu's old town can be accessed in a 20 minute walk from Iyo-Ozu Station. Alternatively, take the city loop bus from the station to Asamoya-mae (あさもや前) bus stop (7 minutes, 100 yen, 1-2 buses per hour), which is located immediately south of the old town.
Omoide Warehouse
It is a small charming museum showcasing retro exhibits from the Showa Period (1926-1989), such as old Coca Cola bottles, household items and toys. The warehouse is part of the Pokopen Yokocho Alley which recreates the ambiance of an arcade in the 1950s. The alley is lined with nostalgic wooden-framed stalls offering small items, desserts, beverages and games. However, the stands are open only on Sundays from April to November and every third Sunday in winter.
Schedule and cost
Hours: 9:30 to 16:30 (Last entry 16:00)
Closed: December 29-31
Admission:200 yen

Tour of Uwajimaya's Natsu Matsuri Asian Summer Street Festival Seattle Chinatown
A local Asian grocery store Uwajimaya had their Natsu Matsuri (summer festival) in Seattle's Chinatown International District. Uwajimaya also has several eateries, small retail areas, and even apartments in the development.
They were offering fun family events, and food. Most things were just a few dollar to play or eat. Many things were for free. We took some time there and then finally ate at Jade Garden.
To get to Uwajimaya take the Link to the Chinatown Station, also you can reach the area by numerous buses. Sounder Train also stops at the King Street station, and First Hill Streetcar also has a few stops in the ID, and close to Uwajimaya.
Enjoy!
