ఈ పార్క్ సందర్శనకు వచ్చే వారిలో పర్యాటకుల కంటే నగరవాసుల సంఖ్య అధికంగా ఉంటుంది. సాయంత్రం వేళల్లో ఇక్కడి హాయిగొలిపే వాతావరణాన్ని ఆస్వాదించేందుకు వచ్చేవారు కొందరయితే... కుటుంబసభ్యులతో ఆహ్లాదంగా గడిపేందుకు వచ్చేవారు మరికొందరు. హుద్ హుద్ వంటి పెను విపత్తును సైతం తట్టుకుని... అనతికాలంలోనే అణువణువునా పచ్చదనం నింపుకుని... అన్ని మౌలిక సదుపాయాలతో నగరంలోనే అత్యుత్తమ ఉద్యానవనంగా వుడా పార్క్ సేవలందిస్తోంది.

The long-awaited and much-hyped VUDA City Central Park was finally inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the park, the Chief Minister said another Rs. 10 crore will be spent for building an amusement arena for children in the park. He asked the VUDA officials to work out a project to build such parks in Anakapalli, Gajuwaka, Bheemunipatnam and Mudasarlova. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu informed the gathering that the Gurajada Children’s theatre will be inaugurated during Dasara.
The park is centrally located near the APSRTC Complex is spread over 20 acres and has come up on the land that earlier housed the Central Jail.
The project, which was first conceived in 2010, faced many hurdles following proposals for development of a commercial complex.
It was only after the vigilant public of the city who raised a hue and cry that the project of a park, which would serve as lung space, was conceived.
According to VUDA Vice-Chairman Babu Rao Naidu, about Rs. 35 crore was spent on the project.
There are about 20 components in the park such as a 1.5 km peripheral walking track, a sand track for jogging, an inner walking track and a cycle track.
This apart there is a pre-programmed musical fountain, a yoga hall, an event lawn, conference hall and an amphi theatre. About 105 old trees that dotted the compound have been retained and an ornamental bamboo garden and bonsai garden has been added.
“We have gone for elaborate landscaping and have used some of the best variety of plants and creepers,” said Mr. Babu Rao Naidu.
Meanwhile, CPI (M) alleged that the Central Park’s lease was given away to a benami firm of a Telugu Desam leader for small amount of annual fee for a period of 20 years.
This would be an another tourist attracting to vizag, as this is the tallest musical fountain in India. This is designed, developed and installed by Orient Fountains of China at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore.
The fountain jets water to a height of 40 to 50 meters, with a pleasant music in the background. Oscillating vertically at 360 degrees, the fountain dances to the tune of digital music in different colours. This musical foundation is build in a area of 800 square meters. The fountain in all will showcase 64 events. The overall play time of this is around 45 minutes.
The fountain beats the Gujarat Science City musical fountain, which goes up to a height of 30 meters only..

It is another landmark in the tourism chapters of Visakhapatnam. The first of its kind in the whole south Asia. INS Kurusura Submarine is a Soviet built-I-641 class Submarine was inducted into the Indian Navy on 18, December 1969 and the same was decommissioned on 28, February 2001 after 31 years of glorious service to the nation. The complete Submarine including the weapon package was hauled-up from Sea to land and positioned on a concrete foundation at Gajapathi Raju Marg, Ramakrishna Beach Road, Visakhapatnam. For setting-up the Submarine Museum, a sum around Rs.6.00 Crores was spent in technical association with Naval-ship Design and Research Center. The length of Submarine is 91.3 m. while the breadth is 8.00 m.
