Nederland Tulips, flowers, bulbs a lot of beautiful and splendid colours in The Keukenhof Holland
Keukenhof also known as the Garden of Europe, is situated near Lisse, Netherlands, and is the world's largest flower garden. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7,000,000 (seven million) flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares.
Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the Dune and Bulb Region.
Keukenhof is open annually from the last week in March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.
Keukenhof is situated on 15th century hunting grounds. It was also a source of herbs for Jacqueline, Countess of Hainaut's castle, which is the source of the name Keukenhof (it served to provide herbs for the castle's kitchen). Rich merchants took over the grounds after the Countess's death. VOC captain and governor Adriaen Maertensz Block lived there in his retirement years in the 17th century in the country house (now known as Castle Keukenhof) which he had let built in 1641.
In the 19th century, the Baron and Baroness Van Pallandt assigned the landscape architect Jan David Zocher and his son Louis Paul Zocher, who had also worked on the Vondelpark, to design the grounds around the castle.
The garden was established in 1949 by the then-mayor of Lisse. The idea was to present a flower exhibit where growers from all over the Netherlands and Europe could show off their hybrids -- and help the Dutch export industry (the Netherlands is the world's largest exporter of flowers). Keukenhof has been the world's largest flower garden for over fifty years.
Cheese Museum in Gouda - Tasting Dutch Cheese | Holland Travel Vlog
What is the secret of Dutch cheese? The Dutch produce 650 million kilos of cheese every year. Two third is exported, which makes Holland the largest cheese exporter in the world. On average the Dutch eat 14,3 kilos of cheese per person per year.
In this video we will tell you the secret behind the delicious Dutch cheese or in particular GOUDA CHEESE!!
I got the chance to visit Gouda for the first time. I always wanted to go there to visit the famous cheese market. The amazing spectacle where the traders and farmers negotiate the price of the cheese is held every Thursday. After you have seen the show on the market and the Dutch women/men, dressed in typical Dutch cloths, singing Dutch songs also pay a visit to Goudse Waag.
This authentic building, designed in 1668 by architect Pieter Post, is also the location of the Gouda Tourist Information Office (VVV).
The ground floor of the Goudse Waag was formerly used to weigh cheese. Today, the Goudse Waag houses the Cheese and Crafts Museum. Here, one can learn about the building’s history, the products weighed and traded, and how cheese is made. The ground floor is also the location of the Gouda Tourist Information Office.

The Netherlands and Dutch people have played an important role for centuries as a culturally liberal and tolerant centre, with the Dutch Golden Age regarded as the zenith.

Nederland BULBS OF HOLLAND
A bulb is an underground vertical shoot that has modified leaves (or thickened leaf bases) that are used as food storage organs by a dormant plant.
A bulb's leaf bases generally do not support leaves, but contain food reserves to enable the plant to survive adverse conditions. The leaf bases may resemble scales, or they may overlap and surround the center of the bulb as with the onion. A modified stem forms the base of the bulb, and plant growth occurs from this basal plate. Roots emerge from the underside of the base, and new stems and leaves from the upper side.
Other types of storage organs (such as corms, rhizomes, and tubers) are sometimes erroneously referred to as bulbs. The correct term for plants that form underground storage organs, including bulbs as well as tubers and corms, is geophyte. Some epiphytic orchids (family Orchidaceae) form above-ground storage organs called pseudobulbs, that superficially resemble bulbs.
All plants that form true bulbs are monocotyledons, and include:
Onion, garlic, and other alliums, family Alliaceae.
Lily, tulip, and many other members of the lily family Liliaceae.
Amaryllis, Hippeastrum, Narcissus, and several other members of the amaryllis family Amaryllidaceae.
Two groups of Iris species, family Iridaceae: subgenus Xiphium (the Dutch irises) and subgenus Hermodactyloides (the miniature rock garden irises).
