Anchuruli, also spelled Anjuruli, is an emerging tourist destination and a catchment area of Idukki arch dam in Kanchiyar village near Kattappana in the district of Idukki in Kerala state, India. It is highly noted for the 5 km long circular tunnel that carries water from Erattayar dam near Kattappana to Idukki reservoir.
The elevation of Anchuruli ranges from 740 m (2,430 ft) above mean sea level. It lies in the Kanchiyar grama panchayath in the newly formed Idukki constituency. The place can be accessed from Kanchiyar (3 km) which is on the Kattappana - Kuttikkanam state highway
Anchuruli being famous for its waterfalls, offers a splendid view of semi – evergreen forest grasslands and hilly areas of the Western Ghats. From this place, we can view a subterranean tunnel of 6 km passing through a huge mountain.

There is yet another beautiful but less known hill station in God's own country Kerala known as Vagamon.
Vagamon was used by the British for tea plantations, followed by Christian missionaries who built their abode of service at Kurisumala which I missed to visit in this vlog due to time crunch. National Geographic Traveler has listed Vagamon on their directory of the 50 most attractive places to visit in India.
1100 meters above sea, far away from the loud city culture, lush greenery and serenity to gift every visitor, Vagamon could be your quiet offbeat hill station in Kerala away from maddening tourist crowds. I loved this place more as I visited here during peak monsoon. No need to book room in advance as online sites doesn’t have much option however there are plenty of stay available at Vagamon. In this vlog I have covered all the destinations across Vagamon apart from Thangalpara, Kurisumala, Murugan Hill and few Waterfalls. So do subscribe and keep sharing your love.

Vagamon Mountain Route, Mountain Pass at Vagamon
Vagamon Mountain route or Mountain Pass is undoubtedly one of the best in Kerala. The route from Erattupetta or from Pala to Vagamon town will be an exceptional ride for any adventure lovers.
A drive around 21 km from Erattupetta region will take you to Vagamon. The route is really fascinating as you will be climbing hills. Throughout this ride, you will be seeing hills on one side and the rock terrains on the other side. Heading your way up to the hills will refresh you more and gives a lovely glimpse for your eyes. But be careful while driving as the roads are really dangerous.
There is a viewpoint on the top of the hills before reaching Vagamon. Visitors habitually spend some time to catch all the picturesque spots. You can see the curved roads that you just accomplished. Also, the mountains sleep holding their hands. The climate there is very bracing which will make you fresh and firm. The energy that you lost while travelling can be retrieved from Vagamon viewpoint.
I would definitely rank Vagamon Mountain Route or Mountain Pass at Vagamon as one of the natural hill routes in Kerala

This is a travel vlog , which i travelled to Uluppunni , vagamon. Its the best place to hangout in summer..Temperature in cool in some places.This travel happened very unfortunately and we were lost in some places..However, i felt really great after the trip and its a best birthday for me ever

#Palozhukumpara #Vagamon (milk flowing rock) is one of the most famous water falls in the region. As the name says, the water looks like flowing milk with its white color. The water falls are dry during non-rainy months.
In Monsoon season, there are numerous water falls, small and big, on the way to Vagamon from any direction (via Erattupetta or Moolamattam or Elappara - the three routes to Vagamon).
About 5 Km away from Meadows a Beautiful waterfalls Called Palozhukumpara situated.
The Palazhokum para falls are otherwise known as the Shivaganga falls. The waterfall is also an an excellent viewpoint and is located close to the pine forests enroute to Elappara. The falls owes its name to a myth that abounds in the region – that Lord Shiva had brought the mighty Ganga down to quench the thirst of his devotees here. ...

Illickal Kallu and Kattikkayam Falls, close to Vagamon Kerala
Illickal hill is one of the less explored destination in Kottayam has an elevation of 6000 feet above sea level. The numerous mountain streams flow down to form the serene Meenachil river, the lush green meadows, the cool wind and the hills makes it a must see destination in Kottayam. The solitude, tranquillity, gentle breeze and the star spangled sky here are all enchanting beyond words. The vehicles reach the bottom of the hill from there tourists must trek atleast 2 km to reach the top of the hill. The hiking is tough as it has 80 degree angles and narrow path, but in some places the travelrs must climb 90 degree angles. The half feet wide natural bridge known as the Bridge to the hell, offers a real challenge to the trekkers, both sides of this bridge are thousands of feet deep. Three hills, each has a height of 4000 feet, together form the Illickal hill. It is said that the legendary medicinal herb called Neela Kodduveli grows here. The flowers of the plant is believed to possess supernatural powers which could increase wealth and heal any illness. From the top of Illickal hill , travellers can see the Arabian Sea in the distant horizon. The sunset on a full moon day is absolutely amazing to watch as the moon rises up like another sun while the orange coloured sun goes down. Illickal hill is one of the best places to see in Kottayam, it is ideal for trekking, adventure trips, family trips and weekend tours.

We went on a trip with friends and family ( all couples ) together to Vagamon, a hill station in Kottayam, Kerala. We stayed at Treebo Adrak Summer Sand Hill Resort, Vagamon which is one of the favourite place for Malyalalam Super Star Mohanlal. He recently stayed there for the shoot of Odiyan. Its near by Vagamon Pine valley and very close to Vagamon Meadows. Vagamon is the best place for a summer vacation holiday.
We also went to Vagamon Lake, where lot of malayalam movies were shot. Ramante Edanthottam, Odiyan , Queen are the recent ones. Lake and a tea plantation adjacent to each other. This should be in your list to do things in Kerala. Its a must visit places in Kerala
In lake you can go for boating.
