WIne tasting in the Valley of the Beautiful Women, Eger, Hungary

Just outside Eger, Hungary, we went wine tasting in the Valley of the Beautiful Women. There are a bunch of wineries dug into the side of a big hill, with varying degrees of tourist friendliness. Of course we chose the local side, where they spoke almost no English. Here we are buying a 2L soda bottle full of unnamed red wine. She grabbed a soda bottle from the floor and filled it. We can drank it that night in the hotel room. We didn't think this was a wine that we should really put down for 10 years.

We love traveling!

Discover Eger, Hungary

Winding medieval streets, beautiful baroque architecture, and a castle on the hill hovering over a picturesque square: that's Eger. This town makes for an ideal one or two-night side trip. It's less than a two-hour drive from Budapest through a charming countryside covered in vineyards. Wine lovers say Eger, with its 10,000 acres of vineyards, resembles Burgundy. Also well known for its thermal baths built in the 1600s, Eger is a great spot to relax. You can enjoy its spas, gourmet Hungarian food and hearty red wines.

Not to be missed on any trip to Eger is a visit to the Valley of the Beautiful Women. A 20-minute walk from the center you will find several small wine tasting cellars carved into a hillside. They serve affordable wines in a festive atmosphere often complete with Roma music. The center of Eger's life is the main square, the site of various wine and music festivals. The pride of Eger is the castle, famous for being the site in 1522 where the locals fought off a Turkish invasion despite being outnumbered 20 to 1 (naturally, popular legend claims 80 to 1).

Having stated that the women and girls in this country are incredibly beautiful, they also lean a little towards the Latin type – proud, yet wild and somewhat temperamental. Budapest, the capital, with a population of nearly two-million, is up-to-date, cosmopolitan and multicultural, with a wide variety of businesses and services which form and shape the daily way-of-life. But, what ARE they like?

Hungarians like to study hard, pass their exams and get a good job. Men and women, both. They prefer to be busily occupied rather than sitting at home twiddling their thumbs!
The women are feminine and spend time making sure they look their beautiful best. It’s a natural beauty – it’s the way it is, and they don’t use a tractor to push make-up across their well-toned skin.

Typically, the Hungarian female is full of vitality, with a healthy complexion, beautifully conditioned hair, wide smiling mouth, and happy disposition.
Smart and well educated, they have no trouble conversing on a wide range of topics, and have no problem saying what they think.
As well as being beautiful, or perhaps because of it, they love to dress in such as way as to enhance their stunning bodies.

Budapest/Eger Hungary Travel

My wife and I traveled to Budapest and Eger in Hungary! We had a wonderful time relaxing in the baths and enjoying the great wine from the region. we particularly enjoyed visiting the Eger area and the valley of beautiful women where it was cellar next to cellar that you could walk from one to the next until you can't walk anymore!
