Engelsholm Castle, overlooking Engelsholm Lake, is located 14 km west of Vejle in south-western Denmark. Originally a manor house which traces its history back to the 15th century, it now houses a folk high school.
Little is known about Engelsholm's earliest history. The estate was acquired from the crown by Timme Nielsen Rosenkrantz in 1452. It was owned by the Brahe family between 1590 and 1725. Knud Brahe, the brother of famous astronomer Tycho Brahe, constructed a new main building, in two storeys and with four corner towers, in 1592-93. The identity of the architect remains unclear but it may have been Hans van Steenwinckel the Elder or Hercules von Oberberg.

Road to Vallo Slot (Castle) Zealand, Denmark
A long road to the castle, but well maintained. Was once used as a monastery run by nuns. Built in approx. 1210 and burned down in 1893 and rebuilt 1894-1904.

Ternyata rumah tempat tinggalku bersama suami berada di kota tempat berdirinya kastil megah bernama Fredericksborg. Kastil ini sudah berdiri sejak ratusan tahun yang lalu. Kota tempatku tinggal ini kini bernama Hilerodsholm, dulu sebelum pergantian wilayah, daerah ini bernama sesuai dengan nama kastil, yaitu Fredericksborg.
Kalau kalian mampir ke Denmark, jangan lupa mampir ke kastil ini ya, karena kastil ini sudah menjadi wisata umum dan menjadi salah satu museum nasional Denmark loh :D
