Batanes Vlog #1 - Valugan Boulder Beach (Philippines Travel - Feb 12, 2019)
Boulders surround the beach and pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this place. The boulders came from a volcanic eruption in 400AD. There’s no sand and there’s no swimming as the combination of the boulders and the waves deem it to be dangerous. Go there for breathtaking pictorials.

Batanes Island Philippines: Guide to Batan, Sabtang & Itbayat (Tourism Video)
Fall in love with the northernmost islands of the Philippines not only for its beauty but also with its cultural heritage, well-preserved villages, yummy Ivatan cuisine, and most of all the islands’ proud Ivatan people.
BATANES: Awesome Guide to Batanes Isles: Batan, Sabtang & Itbayat!

Take a timeless journey through the Philippines last frontier!
We love Batanes for its picturesque landscapes and breathtaking views. Imagine green grasslands as far as your eyes can see, towering limestone cliffs, crystal clear waters, and beautiful views that look straight from a scene of Lord of The Rings, Jurrasic Park, and Moana! It’s not hard to understand why Batanes is on every Filipino’s bucket!
Here’s our guide to Batanes’ top three islands- Basco, Sabtang, and Itbayat…
FACTS ABOUT BATANES:
• The province’s ettirety from landscape and seascape is protected by the government.
• The Islands of Basco and Sabtang were formed by a volcanic eruption while Itbayat was formed due to techtonic movements of the plate.
• The Ivatans are indegenous people protected by the IPRA Law 1997.
• The weather even on summer is cooler than the rest of the Philippines. The coolest months are March to December where temperature can fall as low as 10 degrees.
• Expect to pay cash all the time. Though Landbank and PNB atm’s are available in Basco.
BATAN NORTH TOUR:
Batanes, you take my breathe away!
A trip to Batanes is something you’ll have to do at least once in your lifetime. The country’s northernmost province is one of the most sought-after tourism frontiers, gifted with its unique blend of breathtaking scenery, natural beauty, and well-preserved culture!
North Batan consists of the whole of Basco–from the picturesque Valugan boulder beach, Vayang rolling hills, and Basco lighthouse, to the Mount Carmel Chapel, Fundacion Pacita, the Japanese tunnels, and a weather station with a 360 view of the island!
BATAN SOUTH TOUR:
We heard that the South Batan Tour was much more charming than that of North Batan. But how could that be, when we were already captured by the breathtaking landscapes of the North?!
South Batan is where you’ll find everything to love about Batanes–from the marvelous historical man-made structures, natural sceneries, and authentic Ivatan cuisine, down to taking part in the important cultural experience.
The South Batan Tour is a day tour covering the towns of Ivana, Mahatao, and Uyugan. The tour starts early in Mahatao and covers Chawa Viewdeck, San Jose Borromeo Church, Tayid Lighthouse, Diura fishing village, and Racuh a Payaman (Marlboro Country), then starts again after lunch to Imnajbu, Alapad, Uyugan Town, Ivana Town, Honesty Coffee Shop, and the oldest house in Basco.
SABTANG ISLAND TOUR:
Vast green grasslands as far as your eyes can see, towering limestone cliffs, crystal clear waters, and beautiful landscapes that look out of this world. With access to all of these and more, it’s not hard to see why Batanes is on every Filipino’s bucket list.
Sabtang Island is the southernmost municipality of Batanes and is the smallest of the three major islands, the others being Batan and Itbayat.

ITBAYAT ISLAND TOUR:
For first-time visitors, Itbayat Island may seem like a place suspended in time.
An island paradise barely touched by the unrelenting hand of modernization, Itbayat is one of the last regions of the Philippines where man has hardly left his mark on the environment.
It is a place that sometimes feels foreign and wild, yet at the same time, familiar and tame, a place of majestic rolling hills where wild horses roam freely, racing across open fields. It’s also a place forgotten by history, where vast cave systems hold the secrets to some of the Philippines earliest settlers.
Most importantly, it’s home to nearly 3,000 Ivatan—the original inhabitants of the island.
If you’re up for a real adventure and want to experience untouched nature, Itbayat is the perfect destination.
WHAT TO EAT:
Already captivated by the beauty of the northernmost tip of the Philippines, the magic of Batanes continues as we discover and experience its food! Find out how yummy authentic Ivatan dishes are–from freshly caught mahi-mahi, flying fish, and lobsters, to grass-fed cows, organic pork, root crops, and vegetables!
Ivatan-style cooking can be described as bland, using only salt, soy sauce, and vinegar as condiments. It’s not hard to see that local Ivatans like to maintain a very healthy lifestyle.
WHERE TO STAY:
Here are some suggestions on where to stay in Batanes. Whether it’s in the charming rooms of Fundacion Pacita, mid-range inns, or affordable homestays, you’ll surely find one that’ll suit your budget and specific needs!
BATANES: Batan Island
Batanes is the farthest province in the tip of Luzon, Philippines. It is a must for us (Filipino) to reach this province. We had North Batan Tour in Day 1(afternoon)Tukon Church, Art Gallery, Dipnaysupuan Japanese Tunnel, Valugan Boulder Beach, Basco Lighthouse at Naidi Hills, Vayang Rolling Hills and Chadpidan Boulder Beach. While South Batan Tour for a whole day in Day 2. We were amazed with people, culture, food and everything. We also experience the Kulay Festival having free lunch! This place is also perfect for prenuptial. We really love this place. Let the video explain our experience in this Island.

Breathtaking Batanes! ????????
The name Ivatan applies to the inhabitants of the Province of Batanes, which lies on the northernmost end of the Philippines archipelago. It is almost the name of their language.
The Ivatan people you will meet throughout the islands are warm and welcoming. Locals delight in visitor, who takes an interest in their heritage, learns a little bit of the language, easts seafood, and appreciates Ivatan customs. Above all, the Ivatan people have a huge respect for their culture, traditions and religion.
With more or less 20,000 people scattered thinly over six municipalities located on three inhabited islands, (Batan, Sabtang and Itbayat) Ivatan enjoy close-knit community who commonly greet each other. Younger people are always expected to ask the hands of elders for “Kapaymano” of the kissing of the hands as a sign of respect. In return, they will appreciate if visitors will bestow their blessings to the children but the locals discourage giving them money. One of the most important things of Ivatan etiquette you should remember is that local dress conservatively. Always dress with respect in churches. Nudism is never accepted anywhere in Batanes.
Dindin and I spent for 3 nights and 4 days. Did you know that Batanes is safe for solo traveler! Yes, honesty is the best policy! ☺️

BATANES: My Home, My Place (A travel video on tourist spot of Batanes, Philippines)
A travel video on where to go in Batanes. Every Christmas Season I always go back to my hometown to celebrate the season of giving there. For 2018, I brought Fame there to celebrate with us and experience the beauty of Batanes for a few days.
Before we go to specific spot in Batanes, you have to know first that Batanes has a 3 major island. Batan, Sabtang and Itbayat. In this video, we explore the beauty of Batan Island where I really reside. Spot to visit around Batan Island were the following: Basco Lighthouse, Diura Fishing Village, San Carlos Borromeo Church, House of Dakay, Honesty Coffee Shop, Rakuh a Payaman (Marlboro Hills), Valugan Boulder Beach, Fundacion Pacita, Tukon Church, Alapad Hill Pass and Rock Formation and many more.
If you don't know me, I'm a Philippine based Photographer and filmmaker who is trying to build his portfolio thru Youtube and Social Networking site in order to gather as many experience as he can. I'm HR on daytime and pursuing my passion in my free time.

Batanes | Most Beautiful Place in the Philippines
BATANES 4D3N ITINERARY AND P13,600 ALL-IN EXPENSES
Batanes has always been one of my dream destinations but honestly, it was not even in my travel list. What I mean is, I want to go to Batanes but I thought that would never happen soon or ever.
Because in my mind, going to that place is quite expensive for a Domestic destination. And as a typical Filipino, we are guilty of choosing to spend thousands of pesos for an International Flight- plus stamp added on our passports.
Last October, my friend informed me on the news of Philippine Airlines’ Seat Sale promo. Then and there, we booked our flight.
Thanks to others’ posts/ blogs about this place that made our preparation easier. Got some numbers and contacted them for tours and accommodation.

SOLAR DAYBREAK: TOP TRAVEL DESTINATION -- NORTH BATAN, BATANES
For those who wish to bask in a stunning mix of man-made and natural scenery this summer-- then the hilly province of Batanes up north may just be your dream destination. Most tourists take a tour of North Batan on the first day of their journey to the island province. A breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean awaits those who go to the Valugan Boulder Beach. The kilometer long beach is lined with boulders of different sizes, said to be spewed by Mount Iraya thousands of years ago. Sunset viewing is best at Naidi Hills -- which also provides a panoramic view of Basco town, Baluarte Bay, and Iraya mountain. Tourists also get to enjoy the seemingly endless waves of Vayang rolling hills -- combined with impressive seascapes. The Dipnaysupuan Japanese Tunnel -- meanwhile -- will give you a glimpse of the province during World War II. Hidden in the hills of Tukon, it served as shelter and even a lookout post for Japanese soldiers. And why not make the most out of your tour by cycling your way to the town of Basco. The experience will give you a different perspective of the province -- especially its culture and people.
BATANES - Mahatao View Deck
With its strategic coastal location, the Chanarian View Deck is an ideal resting spot before you go to Mahatao.

Though the tickets can be a tad too expensive, exploring and looking to those stunning, untouched and unspoiled beauty of the glorious Batanes sunrise and sunset are Priceless ...
