Travel in Vanadzor, Armenian nature
Vanadzor is the capital of Lori region. It is the third largest city in Armenia and the industrial, economic, educational and cultural center of Lori. Previously, the city was called Garahilisa, then Kirovakan, and now Vanadzor. It is located in the valley of the Pambak River, 1350 meters above sea level. Surrounded by mountains Bazum and Pambak. In the south and east of the region are covered with forests. The northern and western regions are covered with shrubs and plants. The climate of Vanadzor is characterized by cool summers and relatively mild winters.
The word Vanadzor is a combination of the two words “Van Valley”, Van refers to the historical Armenian city of Van (now in the region of Turkey), and “Dzor” means the valley. The territory of modern Vanadzor has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, as evidenced by the graves and other historical remains found on the hills of Tagavoranist and Mashtots. The district was considered part of Tashir Gugark; which was the 13th province of the Kingdom of Armenia.

The Museum of Fine Arts has been operating since 1974, where you can see works of contemporary Armenian art. Nearly 2000 works of art adorn the museum. The house-museum of the writer Stepan Zoryan has been working since 1990. The beautiful Grant Matevosyan Park is a great place to visit and a place where you can enjoy the view of the surrounding trees.
In the city center there is a beautiful artificial lake. The most beautiful church in the city - Surb Astvatsatsin - the ancient church with a unique architectural style. There is also a Russian church built by Armenians and Russians. The most popular place in Vanadzor is Hayk Square; The most important events of the city are held here. So go and visit this beautiful green city, which will give you great memories.
Vanadzor is also considering a resort center in northern Armenia due to its mild climate, clean air and mineral sources. Many hotels and spa resorts are built in the city and in the surrounding area. A weekend in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia
Yerevan is the capital of Armenia, a country located in the Caucasus, bordering Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran. It is largest city of Armenia as well as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities.
In addition to this video, also check out my blog post 10 reasons why I fell in love with Yerevan, Armenia:
In this video, you will see Yerevan's most important sights and tourist attractions, including the following:
Republic Square can be considered the main square of Yerevan. The Government House, the History Museum and the National Gallery, the Marriott Hotel and several other government buildings are located on this huge square. Originally designed by Alexander Tamanyan in 1924, Republic Square is the favorite hangout of the locals. With its unique pink neoclassical buildings and the reflecting pool, Republic Square can easily be considered Yerevan’s architectural highlight. What I found remarkable about this square was the unified architectural style – all buildings share the same pink-ish and yellow-ish neoclassical design.
The Cascade is a staircase that connects Yerevan’s center (Kentron) with the Monument neighborhood. It consists of multiple levels and a total of 572 steps. Apart from its architectural magnificence, the Cascade offers sweeping views of the city and, on clear days, mighty Mount Ararat in the background.
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts is an arts museum located within the Cascade complex. It offers a variety of exhibitions and dozens of modern and contemporary sculptures by well-known international sculptors. The sculptures are scattered around Cascade Park, the green area in the lower section of the Cascade complex.
