When anyone asks me about Vancouver I can honestly hand on my heart say, it’s one of the best places I have ever ever visited.
Why?
Quite literally, the atmosphere. Vancouver’s clean air is thanks to it’s really close connection to nature. There are mountains and forests surrounding the City, and the Pacific ocean is right on the cities doorstep. Here the great outdoors isn’t just a place, it’s a way of life. But it’s a modern City waiting to be discovered as well. So in this guide, we’re going to help you make the most of it! We’re going to look at food, money, transport, and a whole lot more, but first let’s get from the airport.
Vancouver International airport is less than 10 miles from Downtown area, and is Canada's second busiest airport, after Toronto Pearson International.
Getting between the airport and the City Centre is relatively straightforward – a 20-minute taxi ride will cost around $45.
Another way into the City is the SkyTrain – it's a bit like London's DLR with driverless carriages, you take the Canada line for half an hour or so, and it costs around $7.
Vancouver has an extensive public transport network, as well as being a really easy place to dive. Here’s what you need to know:
Now it’s not often that we can tell someone to drive a car through a major City, but in Vancouver drive away until your heart's content! We hired a car and cannot recommend it enough. Thanks to the Cities grid system, wide roads with plenty of easy understood signs and generally well-tempered drivers - driving was an absolute doddle! There’s ample parking wherever you go, even at the busy tourist hotspots, not to mention fuel is cheap, and traffic generally wasn’t too bad in our experience.
Walking in Downtown Vancouver BC Canada. City Life on Granville Street.
What do you like or not like about this city?
We start this video in Pink Alley.
After a left is taken, we're on Granville Street.
This area has shopping in the morning and afternoon. During the evening, it's a popular area to frequent as it has quite a few night clubs/pubs. From Hastings Street to Smithe Street, traffic is limited to buses, emergency vehicles and taxis.
Filmed after work during summer.
Music & filming by Mark Quigley.

Walking in Vancouver British Columbia Canada - City Life on Commercial Drive
Yeah, I know... the camera is shaky but at least this video gives you an idea of what life is like in east Vancouver (two people told me off while making this video).
Commerical Drive is a neat part of Vancouver where you have lots of shops and restaurants. It's considered to be the Italian area but that seems to have chanced over the years. If you walk down this street you'll eventually end up in Yeast Vancouver.
Enjoy.

How to Take a Long Exposure Photo at Night - Vancouver Iconic Photo Spots
Long exposure photography is a lot of fun and with some basic knowledge is relatively easy to do. To get a long exposure photo you need a camera where you can adjust the settings (specifcally shutter speed, apature, and iso). A long exposure is essentially a technique where you use a really slow shutter speed to expose the camera sensor to light for an extended period of time. This amplifies dim light in a scene and causes moving objects to be blurred in the photo.
You can see the photo on my Instagram account @movesmedia
In this video I share my mission to capture 2 long exposure photos of iconic Vancouver spots perfect for long exposure photography. The Gastown Square and the Lions Gate Bridge are two awesome locations for long exposures. I specifically wanted to create the blurred car headlight effect and both locations were great to make this happen.
