Venice Vaporetto - the Waterbus - the easiest way to get around, Venice | allthegoodies.com
(A) Available for all.
One of the easiset and cheapest ways of getting around in Venice, is to use the Vaperetto - the waterbus. In a city where most of the roads are on the water, the buses also have their home here. The bus system is well developed and functions the same way as other cities have their metro or city bus transportation.

VENICE: VAPORETTO (BOAT) ride to SAN MARCO SQUARE on GRAND CANAL, views of palaces ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the beautiful city of Venice in Italy and let's ride the vaporetto (boat) from Plazzale Roma (a square in Venice, at the entrance of the city) to the world famous Piazza San Marco ( often known in English as St Mark's Square, and which is the principal public square of Venice). We will travel along Grand canal and we are going to view the beautiful palaces that line up this beautiful waterway.
Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.
Italy, a European country with a long Mediterranean coastline, has left a powerful mark on Western culture and cuisine. Its capital, Rome, is home to the Vatican as well as landmark art and ancient ruins. Other major cities include Florence, with Renaissance masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s David and Brunelleschi's Duomo; Venice, the city of canals; and Milan, Italy’s fashion capital.

How to use Vaporetto (Water Bus) in Venice
When you are in Venice, the easiest and also the cheapest way to get around is to take a water bus, vaporetto in Italian. This expansive Venice public transportation managed by ACTV has a network of 160 water crafts and over 100 boarding points carries more than 190 million passengers per year and is an essential part of the complete Venice experience.
You can take the ACTV Water Bus for instance From St. Mark’s Square to Lido to Santa Lucia Train Station to Murano and all of the famous sights of Venice the ACTV Water Bus can take you. When you arrive at the ACTV water bus station go to the ACTV Ticket Machine and follow these steps:
1) Select Language
2) Select Collect Tickets Purchased Online
3) Scan your digital ticket next to the scanner at the bottom left of the machine
4) Collect your tickets
At the entrance gate, tap your ticket on the grey ticket validator
If the QR scanner is not working, tap the on-screen keyboard and enter your PNR code. Your ticket(s) can be used for 3 months from the date of purchase.
And what is the schedule? Generally, the ACTV water bus / vaporetto service runs from 5 am until 11 pm with special night service at some locations and with changing schedules depending on the season, day of week, and holidays. Check with ACTV timetables to find exact schedule for your stop.
And then couple of tips: The terms water bus and vaporetto are often used interchangeably so you might see one or both of these terms in your trip research. Avoid water bus Line 1 if possible. This makes every stop, so it is slow and often completely filled with tourists and their luggage.
Water Busses are not to be confused with water taxis. Water Taxis are just like regular taxis in that they may get you to your destination faster, but they are also more expensive. They are much smaller than the water busses and usually have a yellow stripe to be easily identified.
ACTV is the official public transportation authority in Venice.

This vaporetto journey in Venice between San Giorgio and Guglie was filmed on 20 April 2016. For the most part the journey is by vaporetto No. 2 to the stop at Ferrovia (the railway station) where we change for the No. 5 to Guglie (Jewish quarter).

Venice Vaporetto #2 Water Taxi Ride Piazzale Roma to St Marks Square on Grand Canal (HD)
This was our scenic water taxi boat ride on the Vaporetto #2 (fewer stops than the #1) from Piazzale Roma to St Marks Square in Venice, Italy. We walked from the cruise terminal to the people mover, which took us to the Piazzale Roma to buy tickets for and take the Vaporetto.

For centuries this has been Venice's central artery and although the palaces lining it have lost much of their lustre this ride remains a unique and unforgettable experience. Come with us as we cruise the entire length of the famous waterway, from Piazzale Roma to San Marco (St Mark's Square) on Vaporetto Line 1 (30 July 2012)

You may see the sign of ACTV, it is the Azienda Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano, the Venetian public transportation system.
Vaporetto is a waterbus operation. It serves locales within Venice, Italy, and travels between Venice and nearby islands, e.g., Murano and Lido. (The name, vaporetto, also serves as the appellation for a single such craft, vaporetti being the plural version of the name.) The natives used to call the Vaporetto Batèo. The waterbus line is operated by Azienda Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano (ACTV), the Venetian public transportation system. The system is necessary in Venice as the deep canals prohibit the building of underground railways, and there is no space for overground trains, leaving the canals as the only viable rapid transport system.
