Varadero Markt for Tourist
I can recommend to go to Matanzas
and Cardesnas
, if you want know , how the real live of Cuba is, if you just stay in Varadero it is not the real Cuba live. Of Course Havana, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara and Trinidad was also nice, but this are organized trips. For me, to make it by self is really easy and secure. I was always alone on this trip, I never had a bad and unsafe feeling. You can see I made photos, videos everywhere, but please ask before you make photos in an shop...In Cuba the Tourists have cuc the native pesos. If you make a such trip take just 0,25 0,5 or 1 cuc with you for by some staff!!! The people can not change!
I made my first tour with a native person of cube which me invite in her home. After this I know how it worked and I went more times alone to Matanzas and Cardenas. You should be able to speak basic Spanish if you make a trip by bus, that you are able to ask for bathroom, if you use a Taxi just say Matanzas or Cardenas called principal (Main Street) and in Matanzas and Carenas are many Taxis to bring you back to Varadero. You can trust me, that works without any problems, you just say Varadero and the number of your street where you stay. That is all.
You have to bargain with the taxi driver. The via Azul bus, that is the official bus which tourist can use will be use for 10 Cuc a single tour, so I think nearly what I taxi also want. (nearly 40 km from Varadero) So far I know is it not possible to go to Cárdenas by via Azul bus.(it is just 20 km from Varadero) maybe 5 to 7 cuc should be ok. I used the bus and paid just 1 Cuc for one tour. But to tell the truth, it is not allowed for the bus driver to take you with him. I like adventure and of course for my safety I had 10 cuc on my side, that I am sure I come back to the hotel I liked Cardenas more. You just need to go to the museum you can go inside cost 5 Cuc and than walk the way where lot of horse and stores are. Have fun! And let a message here if you did it !Take all what you need with to Cuba many thinks really expensive like shampoo 8 Euro, or also mosquito protection was in months of November helpful.
And let a message here if you did it !
CUBA: EXPLORING the beautiful ARTS & CRAFTS MARKET in HAVANA, what to buy ????️
SUBSCRIBE: - For years, Havana artisans had their center of exhibition and sale at the open-air Cathedral Square, but since November 2009, with the completion of the renovation and restoration of the old San Jose warehouses on Port Avenue, they now have a place protected from sunlight and rain to exhibit and market their crafts.
The warehouses, built in 1885 with the latest technology of the time, and have become a permanent cultural fair that also includes theatrical and music presentations.
Cuba is a Caribbean island nation under communist rule. It has sugar-white beaches and is dotted with tobacco fields, which play a part in the production of the country's legendary cigars. The capital, Havana, is lined with pastel houses, 1950s-era cars and Spanish-colonial architecture in the 16th-century core, Old Havana. Salsa music plays in the dance clubs and cabaret shows are performed at the famed Tropicana.

I had a bit of time off in July, so my good friend Ilia and I decided to go to Varadero, Cuba for a week! Usually, I'm not a big fan of All-inclusive vacations, but laying on a beach and doing almost nothing for a week sounded really appealing...lol
We stayed at the Grand Memories Varadero and actually loved it! If you stick to light omelettes/fruit for breakfast, and fresh fish/paella/light veggies for dinner/snacks, your stomach will be fine! I know a lot of people complain about Cuban resort food, but we found it pretty good! The resort itself is beautiful - right on the beach, two large pool areas, six bars, and reeeeallly friendly staff. The coffee is out of this world as well.
We ended up exploring Varadero a couple of times (mostly at night going out) - we loved it. You can get STRONG drinks (Rum and Cokes) for about $0.50 USD/drink (sometimes less). The food is very inexpensive as well (any type of sandwich with friends for about $1.00U/2.00 USD. Overall, the nightlife in Varadero is awesome. Highly recommend it.
The catamaran tour cost us about $60.00 USD per person. It takes you to a remote island where they feed you as much lobster as you want. Amazing. Not sure if you can tell from the video, but I love lobster...lol
I'd highly recommend visiting this beautiful place. Cuba's gorgeous beaches and extremely polite/nice people will have you wanting to go back over and over again!
Hope you enjoy the video!
