Die-Nasty is a live improvised soap opera, running weekly in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada since 1991. Die-Nasty's improv comedy format features a continuing storyline and recurring characters, live music, and a director who sets up scenes for the audience (and performers) in voiceover.
The regular season show runs on Monday nights at 7:30pm, from mid-October until late May at the Varscona Theatre The Die-Nasty company also performs an annual mini-series at the world-renowned Edmonton International Fringe Festival.Every September, Die-Nasty hosts the annual Soap-A-Thon — 50 hours of continuous improv, which features many performers going the entire weekend without sleep.
Die-Nasty has been honoured with a special Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Excellence in Theatre, and has also been nominated for several Canadian Comedy Awards. In 2006, Die-Nasty was the recipient of the Canadian Comedy Award for best improv troupe . On February 12, 2007, the troupe received special recognition from the government of Alberta upon reaching the milestone 500th episode of Die-Nasty.

Changing the back alley scene one bakery at a time - this next edition of the NextGen vlog series (part 7) woke us up early, letting us indulge in coffee and bakery treats as well as the smells fresh baking brings. Sugared and Spiced is located at 10334 82 Ave - Rear. That’s right - REAR!
At Sugared and Spiced - everyone is welcome, and even in the back alley its pretty easy to get to. They face the Strathcona Farmers market and have direct access to the backstage door of the Varscona Theatre.
All of the delicious treats are made from scratch and there are so many to choose from. Cookies, tarts, meringues, smores bars, nanaimo bars to name a few. And if you haven’t yet seen the beautiful cakes - check out the instagram page and be instantly wanting to eat cake. Find them at Sugared & Spiced Baked Goods.
During special holidays they offer from scratch mini Gingerbread house making kits, and pre order cookie or treat boxes. As well they offer cake club which helps you pre book special occasions throughout the year and they connect with you to with a cake ready to go.

The Edmonton International Fringe Festival is an annual arts festival held every August in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Produced by the Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA), it is the oldest and largest fringe theatre festival in North America.[1] The Edmonton Fringe is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals.
Over 800 performers take part in more than 200 shows at the festival each year.[2][3] The fringe festival is the largest in North America based on indoor ticket sales. In 2014, 118,280 tickets were sold, up from 117,000 in 2013. The 2014 event had over 210 shows and 1,600 performances, with an estimated outdoor site attendance of 665,750.[4][5][6]

Chris Dodd, actor, will be performing in a play, called Sound Off and it's a play delivered by deaf people, with interpreters for the non-deaf members of the audience happening during the upcoming Chinook theatre festival in Edmonton.
