National Stadium “Vasil Levski” is a all-seater multifunctional stadium in the heart of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It’s the biggest venue in its class and it hosts all the games of the National Football Team of Bulgaria. The stadium is named Vasil Levski, the most famous Bulgarian hero from the Bulgarian Revival.
The capacity of the stadium is 43 358 and it offers 2 500 parking lots. There are also 1500 VIP boxes and 4 000 covered seats. It is separated in four sectors, entrances, stands and toilets.
The venue was licensed in 2002 by UEFA and it preserves 4**** category by UEFA and FIFA standards for stadium capacity of such class.
In addition to the football ground and the atlethics' track, the venue hosts judo, artistic gymnastics, basketball, boxing, aerobics, fencing, taekwondo and table tennis halls. The stadium is the home of the Bulgarian National Sport Base adminsitration and it also hosts the Museum of Physical Culture and Sports.

Bulgaria: England fans clash with police ahead of Euro 2020 qualifier in Sofia

England fans clashed with police in Sofia on Monday ahead of their team's Euro 2020 qualifier match against Bulgaria, according to reports fourteen English fans were arrested by police amid the clashes.
Footage from the city centre shows one English fan being arrested by the police as someone from the crowd throws a glass of alcohol at police officers.
Tensions have risen since Bulgarian supporters hurled racial abuse at the June qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Kosovo. The England coach and team have warned they will walk off the pitch if faced with similar behaviour. The Vasil Levski National Stadium will remain partially closed during the Monday night fixture.
Also on Monday an 32-year-old England fan reportedly died in a Sofia hospital after being found in a helpless condition by local police. The cause of death has yet to be established.
