VASUKI TAL || KEDARNATH
Vasuki Tal is one of the many less frequented but charming tourist spots in the state of Uttarakhand, situated at a distance of about 8 kilometers from the religiously significant pilgrimage center of Kedarnath. Standing at an altitude of almost 4135 meters (that is about 14,200 feet) above the sea level, the lake of Vasuki Tal is surrounded by the imposing and magnificent Himalayan mountain ranges and offers a spectacular view of the Chaukhamba peaks nearby.

Chorabari Lake | Kedarnath Travel Vlog | Part 2 of 2
Hey guys, we are back with another vlog but this time it's from Kedarnath (Part-II)!!
Since the disaster in Kedarnath, I really wanted to visit the place and experience it raw. Finally, after 6 years I got a chance to make it happen and guess what, I did!
So in this part, I hiked up to the Chorabari lake, the lake that was that caused the disaster in 2013, my experience was surreal. Please let me know you have any questions in the comment section below.

Vasuki Tal Trek with Bikat Adventures| June 2019|
I’ll give you guys the Bummer first. Yeah! We couldn’t summit and the weather was totally against us on the last three days. However, we did have the best times of our lives. Here is the best week of the year in less than five minutes.
Our base camp was at Gangotri and the first stretch until Gomukh was a trail well established through the national park. This was a cake walk. We camped at Bhojwasa the first day after a 14km walk. My mouth waters everytime I remember the Hot Chai and biscuits, soup and pappad and the best Aloo Gobi and roti.
The second day is a test for the body and the mind. With AMS slowly setting in, I started my journey towards Tapovan. After a long walk till Gomukh, a slight tilt towards the right will be the Great Mount Shivling and of course the rocky uphill journey to reach Tapovan. It is a steep climb for quite a distance that will undoubtedly suck your energy away. With the best view of Akasha Ganga, I embraced AMS completely and popped in an aspirin and continued climbing. Five minutes later, I wanted to quit and go back to the base. Five minutes later, I threw up. Five minutes later, i was blessed with the most beautiful sight of my life. Tapovan was magic and was filled with positive energy. The vibrations were great and guess what, bad weather made us stay there for three full days. Guess it all works out for the best. I was personally so happy. I wouldn’t mind staying at Tapovan for weeks together.
The next two days, we took a small walk and reached the Meru Glacier. For someone like me who has seen snow only in Abhirami mega mall before, I WAS OUT OF CONTROL AT MERU GLACIER. Sliding down the snow, making snow balls, rappelling and WHAT NOT. I wish I could do it all again as I write this.
We climbed down the next day and headed straight to Cheerwasa. A long 14 km walk took us to this beautiful place along the Ganga. We enjoyed the silence and slept with our hearts and minds full of memories and woke up to birds singing for us. A beautiful rendition of the Vishnu Sahasranamam along the banks of Ganga followed by Hot pooris and Channa, set us on our journey back to the Base camp. We were glad to have beds that night to sleep no doubt, but we realised we were equally blessed to connect with Mother Nature on so many levels.
BIG shout out to Bikat adventures for being a wonderful agent and not compromising on any important aspect. A huge thank you to PACHU and DIDHAR for being amazing trek leaders. Couldn’t have done it without you guys. With folded arms, thank you to Santosh Ji for being the great guide he is and of course for his ever smiling face.
When a huge show is a success, a lot of work goes on backstage too. The porters and the kitchen staff are the real show stoppers here. Carrying all our sleeping bags, tents, gas cylinder, cooking utensils, ingredients etc., weighing upto 50-80kgs. It is not an easy task. Five days was possible only because of these guys. I dint know I could have the tastiest fruit custard, and dahlia at 16000 ft above sea level. More than thanks, we are all eternally grateful to them for making it happen.
In this video, what I have tried to do is to recreate the five beautiful days in the same order of events. I intended to edit the videos as it happened so that it appeals the most.
The background song is called Felitsa. It's a song Yanni wrote for his mother. I thought i could use it and make a connect with mother nature. ;)
Hope you guys like it! Cheers! :D

The only way to reach Gangotri is by road. One can start the road journey either from Dehradun or Rishikesh but with a new route open now, reaching Gangotri via Dehradun is the faster option (around 242 Kms). You will receive the detail of accommodation in Gangotri through an email from us. After reaching here, check into the Guest House/Hotel. Have some rest. Evening can be utilized to explore the local market, temples, etc.
After driving up to 10000ft the last day, we will take a day off in Gangotri to acclimatise.
We start in the morning, after breakfast to trek towards Chirbasa (3600mt). From Gangotri you may move along the beaten track towards Chirbasa, which is on tree line. The entire trek till Chirbasa is along the roaring Bhagirathi River
Early in the Morning enjoy the panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. After breakfast trek to Gomukh (3890mt), the source of the Ganges. Gomukh is where the water of Ganga trickles down from the glaciers.
On this day we start early & head to the great Meru Glacier. After a brief halt to explore Meru Glacier, we trace back to Nandanvan via Gomukh glacier.
Morning trek along with Chaturangi Glacier to reach Vasuki Tal, a beautiful base for Mt Satopanth and Mt Vasuki Parbat with a small lake. The trek is steady upward. After Exploring the area, trek back to Nandanvan. Arrive in 5-6 hours and overnight stay in tents.
Kedar Tal - A hidden glacial lake
Kedar Tal, also known as Shiva's lake, is a glacial lake situated at an altitude of 4,750 metres (15,600 feet) in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas in India. The lake is fed by the snowfall over Mt Thalay Sagar (6,904m), Meru (6,672m), Mt Bhrigupanth (6,772m) and other surrounding peaks, which are also the source of Kedar Ganga, which in Hindu mythology is considered to be Shiva's contribution to Bhagirathi (a source-stream of the Ganges). The proximity with magnificent peaks and the view this trek offers will make you believe in magic.

Vasu Ki Taal on 3rd June 2017-Kedarnath
From kedarnath 7 kms uphill is Vasu Ki Taal. We had no clue that we have to cover two kilometer journey on snow slopes where a single wrong step could led to fall. After witnessing herds of mountain goat and fresh pugmark of himalayan black bear this trek was not a normal trek. This was like a heavenly place. Especial thanks to Om Saran for carrying Go Pro and commentary.:)
