Gornje Selo, island Šolta - Croatia : New official video
Situated at the foot of the highest peak of the island (Vela Straža), the village Gornje Selo stands out with its appearance and location and it's very attractive as it is a prime example of Mediterranean architecture.

My video was originally almost 14 minutes at about 1GB and included additional comments. For the purpose of uploading to YouTube, I cut the video to focus mainly on the statues representing Jesus on the day of his crucifixion.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about Velo straža. Please, note, too, that there's another Velo straža listed on the tourist; however, I was told that only the Velo straža in Gornje Selo has the figures of Jesus going up the hill. You'll see the sign for Velo straža on the main road; take the road that's behind it and just keep walking. You'll see two crosses on your right and the first Jesus in the circular space; the path goes up on the right side (I think the other path takes you behind the cemetery which is on the left).

Immigrant Mother statue in Cleveland Croatian Garden
The statue of the Immigrant Mother was placed in the Croatian Cultural Garden in Cleveland Ohio on May 11, 2012. The official unveiling will be June 3, 2012. The statue by sculptor Joseph Turkaly is dedicated to all immigrant mothers who brought their families to America seeking freedom and a new life.
