While I didn't get into becoming an M.D., helping people was something that I always loved and interacting with individuals to try to help them in any way I could.
It's amazing. We have 21 across the state (OH). Our distillers' guild alone I think has 17 members so it's amazing and we anticipate to exceed 30 by year's end so they're popping up across the whole state (of Ohio).
And if you can provide a quality product that's developed locally, supporting the economy, creating jobs, they (the customer) will be willing to pay maybe a little bit more.
You have to ensure that's (your product) going to be competitive with anybody in the world. You have to legitimately feel that you can do that. If you don't feel that you can compete with other businesses at that level, then the ability to scale it (your business) is really unrealistic.
You need to understand that if you don't have the passion for what you're doing it's not worth doing.

Airport encourages businesses to fly away
Business After Hours for May was held at the Knox County Airport. The event served a two-fold purpose. It let community leaders and members see the facility and learn about how it operates. It also served as a kind of rededication of the airport.
Drucker School Global Family Business Institute Launch
The Drucker School of Management celebrated the launch of the Drucker School Global Family Business Institute on April 12, 2018, featuring special guests and leaders from the family business sector, including keynote speaker Jamie T. Richardson, vice president of the White Castle Management Company, a family-owned business; and Randall W. Lewis, executive vice president of the Lewis Group of Companies.
The kick-off event also featured a welcome (via videoconference) from alumnus Andrew Chen (MBA, ’10), the founding donor of the Drucker School Global Family Business Institute who moved back to Taiwan to work at his family’s business, which supplies merchandise to Starbucks worldwide; and reports from alumnus Koji Ogura (EMBA, ’11), the director for Japan and Drucker-Ito Relationships who previously worked for 25 years for Yamato Holdings, a Japanese logistics company that his grandfather started in 1919; and Jenny Darroch, the Henry Y. Hwang Dean of the Drucker School, professor, and Drucker brand champion.
The panel discussion was moderated by family business consultant and alumna Pat Soldano (EMBA, ’86).

“The majority of businesses everywhere are family-controlled and family-managed. Yet management books and management courses deal almost entirely with the publicly-owned and professionally-managed company—they rarely as much as mention the family-managed business.”
–Peter Drucker
