Venice - High Speed Water Taxi from Airport to City, July 2016
On arrival at Venice's Marco Polo Airport, the quickest way to get to the old city is by water taxi across the Lagoon. These super fast boats overtake everything else in sight as they scream across the lagoon along the marked out motorway between the airport and the city.
The route takes us past the island of Murano, traditional home to the famous glassworks of Venice. On arrival in the city, the speed is severely restricted because of the 5 mph speed limit which appears to be fairly loosely adhered to. The only vessels allowed to blatantly ignore the limit are emergency boats of the Venezia Emergenza, attending real emergencies. In the video, we witness an emergency call-out, as one such vessel attends to what I assume is an ambulance duty.
From the lagoon, our taxi takes a back street canal as a short cut through to the Grand Canal in the heart of the city. We are dropped off at a taxi point alongside the famous Rialto Bridge, which is clearly visible from one side but is undergoing restoration and is covered by a rather cheesy plastic covering, bearing the image of a Rialto Bridge on the other side.

We have arrived here in Venice, Italy, or Venezia, Italia in Italian. We're staying at a hotel called Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa, a luxury 5 star hotel on the water here in Venice. Day 1, getting the Easyjet plane from Edinburgh to Venice, then finding out that we need to get a water taxi to our hotel. That was fun.

How do you get to Venice from the airport? Do you take the bus, water bus or water taxi? What’s the fastest way to get there? What is the cheapest? Which way is the most spectacular? These and other questions will be answered.
Venice Vaporetto - the Waterbus - the easiest way to get around, Venice | allthegoodies.com
(A) Available for all.
One of the easiset and cheapest ways of getting around in Venice, is to use the Vaperetto - the waterbus. In a city where most of the roads are on the water, the buses also have their home here. The bus system is well developed and functions the same way as other cities have their metro or city bus transportation.

Venice Marco Polo airport to Venice by boat, Italy
This is how you get from Venice Marco Polo airport to Venice by boat ( vaporetto) or( water bus). Buy your boat ticket in the airport or outside. There are about 4-5 stops along the way, it takes a little over an hour to get to Piazza San Marco station. It took a little longer that day, due to the storm. Select your hotel as close to a water-bus station as possible, there are bridges with steps to cross and they don t have ramps for your luggage.

Transportation in Venice Italy is very different from other cities. You probably heard of the gondola, the iconic symbol of Venice, well known around the globe as the vest way to enjoy a wonderful Venice vacation. You probably have a plan to visit, and need some Venice tips before you arrive. If you ask yourself, what is the vaporrato Venice water bus, how to get around Venice or how to get from the airport to Venice (Marco polo), you’re in the right place. I hope that now after you saw my video, you know everything there is to know about transportation in Venice. Check the links below that will take you to all the sites where you can buy your tickets without standing in lines.

Air BNB is one of my most favorite ways to travel and experience the world. You get to stay at a beautiful house/ apartment and live just like the locals do. It’s very convenient for families as well. If you haven’t tried it yet, here’s a link to the website, you’ll get 41 $ free to use for your first stay. Enjoy
How to get from the airport to the city of Venice:
Shuttle bus, departs from the terminal entrance so it is very convenient, and takes you all the way to piazzela roma, the only place in Venice that you can reach with land transportation.
Aliagona is a water bus that takes you from the port to the stations along the grand canal, the main canal of Venice. A convenient option in case your hotel is close to one of these stations and if you came for a few days and you have time. It’s not the fastest way but you’ll experience your first ride on water. Here’s the link to buy a ticket. Click “buy me” next to the option you pick:
Shared water taxi, departs from the airport and will take you on a beautiful (and way quicker) ride on water, all the way to the airport/the closest point the boat can reach. There’s a detailed explanation in the link. It’s the best way to get from the airport to your hotel, no need to change transport, quick and convenient:
Transportation is Venice:
1. Waterbus / vaporatto- when you want to buy a daily, 3 days or weekly pass, that allows you to use the waterbus as much as you like that day, it’s better to by your ticket online (if you’re coming for the carnival or in summer). Click , pick the public transport in venice label. The first option that opens is where you pick the type of card you want, add a card and buy. Print the voucher you get in the mail!
2. Gondola (!!!!!!!!!!!!woohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!):
I’ve mentioned (in the video) that a 30 min ride costs 80 euros which is correct. But I’ve found a good deal for people who don’t want to share a boat with other tourists and want to pay less than 80. Check the link, the prices there is for each person. So if you’re a couple or 3 people it will actually be less than 80! You’re welcome:

Follow my 1.5 hour water bus trip from Venice Marco Polo airport to San Marco Square, Venice. (can also be used to/from the cruise terminal) with Alilaguna, Linea Blu (Blue line).
Alilaguna was founded in Venice in 1999 thanks to the business venture of a group of tourist operators who started with the first public transportation service connecting Marco Polo airport to the city centre.
First it was the Linea Rossa which connected Marco Polo airport to Murano, the Lido of Venice and San Marco square.
Right the year after Linea Rossa was extended up to Zattere and was added also the Linea Blu, connecting Marco Polo airport to Fondamente Nuove, Santa Giustina and San Marco square and the cruise terminal.
