Buddhists across Northeast India celebrate 'Kathin Chibor Dan' festival- ANI News
Tripura, Oct 31 (ANI): Hundreds of Buddhist congregated in Tripura’s historical monastery, ‘Venuban Vihar’, to participate in the 40th 'kathin chibor dan' festival, one of the main religious festivals of the Buddhist community. The festival is celebrated throughout the world within one month of the conclusion of 'Prabarana Purnima', the full moon day of the Hindu month of Ashwini. Large numbers of Buddhists thronged to seek blessings of Lord Buddha for peace and prosperity during the festival. During old times, devotees weaved and dyed the clothes themselves before donating it to a monk. This signified sacrifice, through which one can achieve salvation. Devotees taking part in the celebrations said they wanted to pray for peace among mankind this year. In Buddhism, donating robes to monks is believed to be the highest sacrifice. The festival highlights the importance of sacrifice in life and hence the Buddhist devotees offer prayers and donate generously. The devotees also lighted candles, offered prayers and donated books, pens, notebooks and tied sacred threads to 'kalpataru' or wishing trees, which they believe would fulfill their wishes. The Balijan Shyam village situated under Titabor subdivision of Jorhat district came alive with the celebration of Kathin Sibar Daan with utmost devotion. The village is populated with Tai-Khamyang people. There are more than 50 families living in the village. Many believe that the festival is also a time to introduce the younger generation to Buddhist philosophies and traditions that is slowly waning out.

venu van rajgir bihar - finished
benu bana rajgir :-
Venu Van is a place surrounded by a bamboo plant and a pond of green green salt located here. Lord Buddha used the place at the monsoon and spent the four years of his precious time here in order to promote his disciples to the most favorite place of Lord Buddha. Most famous among the Buddhists.
In the north of Laksmi Narayan Temple, this beautiful park identifies the places of bamboo groves in King Bibsarah Buddha, thus it is considered by many to represent Buddhists's first Buddhist monastery. Since then, the Karadak Navavap Tank has always been left.
This Bamboo Grove Buddha has been given to stay with Buddha, a peaceful park to sit, walk and meditate. There is a lake in the park
Venu Bhan or Bamboo Flowers are places where Lord Buddha has spent three years teaching and preaching. Venture forests have been converted into strong winds with green trees. There is also a pond located in the middle of the park.
This place which was given to Gautama Buddha for meditation by King Bomboja.
. The Buddhists here lived for some time after getting the illumination.
This is a comfortable place. The beautiful nature I found here.
