Somnath Beach and Chorwad is well connected by an efficient transport network. The port town of Veraval serves as a gateway to Somnath beach. Somnath Beach is situated 6Km to the east of Veraval. Chorwad is short ride from somnath. Veraval town is well connected by air, road and rail way. The nearest airport is at Keshod. It is located 47 Km away and is connects to Mumbai. The nearest railway station is Veraval. To reach Somnath Beach by rail, you can board trains from major cities like, Ahmedabad, Diu, Sasan Gir, and Rajkot, and get down at Veraval. Veraval lies at a distance of 431 Km from Ahmedabad. The town of Veraval is well connected to the rest of Gujarat and neighboring states by road. State and private buses link Veraval to other towns of Gujrat like, Junagadh, Rajkot, Sasan Gir Porbandar, and Diu.

The best time to holiday in Somnath Beach is from the months of October till March. The climatic conditions remain ideal to enjoy the beauty and sightseeing options around the beach. LcTravelers
Summers at Somnath Beach are extremely exhausting and hot. The temperature during this time ranges between 24⁰C up to 41⁰C. The climatic conditions remain same from March till June and this time is best avoidable. The month of July is the start of monsoons that continues till September. During this time the place receives heavy rainfall making the sea look more ferocious. Strong winds are the characteristic of this season. Winter season in Somnath Beach prevails from November to February. The weather is pleasantly cool with temperature varying between 10⁰C to 32⁰C. LcTravelers

Veraval is a municipality and the headquarters of Gir Somnath district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is 6 km from Somnath. It is also known for the hub of fishing industries in India.
Veraval was founded in 13th or 14th century by Rao Veravalji Vadher, a Rajput. Veraval was once a fortified port town of the royal family of Junagadh. It was a part of the Kingdom of Junagadh till 1947 when Junagadh was merged with India. LcTravelers
The Port of Veraval lies on the southwestern coast of the Kathiawar Peninsula on the Arabian Sea in the state of Gujarat in northwestern India. It is home to one of India’s biggest fishing ports. In 2001, more than 141 thousand people lived in the Port of Veraval. The city contains some impressive remains of its Nawabi heritage, including the graceful Nawabi summer palace. Today, the Port of Veraval is home to a large fishing port where fishing boats and sea-going dhows are still built at the shore without any tools beyond a tape measure. LcTravelers
The local fishery has always been the town’s dominant industry, and the community of Kharwas (fisherfolk) is its largest subpopulation, using traditional trawlers and boats to land their catch. Several fish processing factories are located there that export high-quality seafood to the United States, Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, and the Gulf.
