I traveled to VIETNAM with Flying the Nest | Flying the Nest Expedition
Back in November 2018, Jess and Stephen of Flying the Nest announced that they were planning an Expedition to Vietnam. And I never imagined in a million years that I would be one of the lucky individuals to embark on an epic journey to Vietnam with 11 other wanderlusting strangers.
Our trip began in Hanoi where we explored the Old Quarter, jumped on a Cyclo, and experienced the thrill of train street. We then traveled to the infamous Halong Bay, which is even more breathtaking in person. While in Halong Bay, we kayaked through the floating fishing villages, learned how to make the traditional Vietnamese spring roll, and woke up to early morning Tai Chi. After Halong Bay, we boarded the overnight train to Hue. The 13 hour train journey to Hue was filled with laughter, booze and filled with memories. Once in Hue, we explored the Forbidden Purple city, Thien Mu Pagoda, watched the sunset along the Perfume River and listed the Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh. After Hue, our last and final stop was the beautiful Hoi An. To get to Hoi An, we drove along the Hai Van Pass, also known as the Ocean Cloud Pass. The drive was beautiful and the perfect introduction to central Vietnam. While in Hoi An, we were lucky enough to experience the Full Moon Lantern Festival. The city turns off all the lights and is only lit by lanterns that are lining the streets, river and boats. One of the highlights of our trip was the vespa street food tour with Vespa Adventures ( Not only were we able to see Hoi An at night via vespa, but we also ate some amazing traditional Vietnamese food. Last but not least, was out bicycle tour through the rice paddies to Tra Que Vegetable Village, which is a farming community right out side of Hoi An. Here, we learned how to farm the traditional Vietnamese way, enjoyed a relaxing foot bath, and learned how to make the traditional Vietnamese pancake.
Per usual, the end of a trip is always the hardest. It's hard to say goodbye all the amazing people you meet along the way. But I know, this is not a goodbye but a see you later. I know that all of our wandering paths will soon cross again. Until next time, Xin Chao Wanderers!

4 People on a Scooter Motorbike - On a Ride to the Thai / Cambodia border near Koh Kong Cambodia
I was recently in Thailand and Cambodia. I frequently observed entire families on a single scooter motorbike. This ride to the border shows 4 people on one bike. The guy with the luggage was my Cambodian Guide and the suitcase he is holding in front of him is mine as is the laptop bag behind him, lol

This funny music was composed in the 1960 decade by the late musician Phạm Duy Nhượng. Some time he used the pen name Duy Nhượng. He is the older brother of musician Phạm Duy. It had been successfully performed by the AVT Three Men Band all over South Viet Nam. This is the excerpt of the best parts from music video Biển Nhớ 4 (2005), disk 2, track 10.
