Two ceremonies show city's pride, while paying a debt of honour to Canada's veterans
About 150 people attended a Remembrance Day Ceremony in Red Deer's new Veteran's Park on Ross Street at 49th Avenue on Thursday. Under the landmark Cenotaph several Korean War Veterans Association members and members of the public gathered in the park that was just recently completed.

Veterans' Park opened, Cenotaph rededicated
People who suggest moving Red Deer's Cenotaph from its original location have failed to appreciate its significance, says a Red Deer woman who is among its most vocal defenders.
Retired dance instructor Mary Fink, now 84, once threatened to chain herself to the Cenotaph rather than see it moved from its original location at the centre of Ross Street, facing the former Canadian Pacific Railway station.

The City of Lake Forest began issuing citations to those feeding the geese at the renovated Veterans Park earlier this month - but we're targeting the geese, too, in our effort to keep the park clean and usable for residents ... ever heard of the #Goosinator?

All about Red Deer City Hall Park | theWanderers-notebook
Hey Wanderers Army! Welcome back to another All about Red Deer video with this video focusing in on City Hall Park in the downtown core of Red Deer. City Hall Park dates back to 1902. A legal dispute dragged on for more than a decade before the property was finally awarded to the town. From 1914 to 1924 the park was used primarily for recreation purposes, such as ice skating in the winter and baseball in the summer. In 1943 the Elks Club built a paddling pool on the northeast corner of the park. The original City Hall sat along Ross Street just west of the pool.
If you have any suggestions for videos you would like to see done in the future, comment below and I''ll consider them and might even implement some of them.
