Vintage Train Display at Memorial Park (Lindsay, Ontario)
A look at the vintage railway display at Memorial Park in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. Featured are both classic steam and diesel engines, as well as cars and cabooses.
The park is located on Lindsay Street South, at the southernmost end of town. Some of the cars were formerly on display in the downtown area on Victoria Avenue. The steam engine had been stored in the Shaft Machine building which has since been demolished.
The rail cars, engines and cabooses originally belonged to Canadian National and the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway.

Classics On Kent ~ Lindsay, Ontario
Antique and collector cars, muscle cars, custom cars and trucks from across Ontario rolled into downtown Lindsay on Sunday, July 15th for the Annual Classics on Kent Downtown Car Show.
Thousands of people filled Kent Street all day, where over 600 cars lined every street in downtown Lindsay. A record number of people attended this year, and additional vehicles were parked in every available spot the downtown could offer. The 2nd Annual Motorcycle Show filled Victoria Avenue South and Brits in the Park also had cars on display in Victoria Park, making this an estimation of 1000 vehicles filling the downtown corridors.
Over 70 prizes were given away to car registrants and the event was completed with a trophy, awards and prize presentation at 3pm. The winners of the trophy presentations were: A & W Sponsors Choice: Dan Jones from Bobcaygeon, owner of a 1965 Chevy Impala, The Lindsay District Chamber of Commerce Sponsors Choice: Carl & Judy Madill from Brooklyn, ON owner of a 1957 Chevy Pickup, The Lindsay Post Sponsors Choice: Richardo Darmanie from Bowmanville, owner of a 1951 Pontiac Chieftan. The Lindsay Downtown BIA Sponsors Choice winner was a 1966 Corvette, owner by Jeff Dickinson from Peterborough. The Everyday Specialities Memorial Award was presented in memory of Rick Broomer, in the spirit of avid car collectors who are no longer with us. The winner was presented with their trophy by Cody Toms, Rick Broomer's grandson. Matt Punter from Lakefield, owner of a 1966 Dodge Dart claimed this trophy. A Driver's Choice award was sponsored by Reeds Vintage Auto Insurance, and this year's driver's choice was Dave Short from Wasaga Beach, owner of a 1970 Road Runner. Included in the presentations was a grand prize of an autographed Jason Spezza jersey and print valued at $300 from OLG Slots at Kawartha Downs, and an evening out in Lindsay, sponsored by the Academy Theatre and Olympia Restaurant.
With hundreds of car owners from across the province in attendance, Classics on Kent was not only a tremendous success, it is recognized as one of the largest car shows in Ontario. This event grows larger each year and the committee is already looking forward to planning the 2013 event. Thank you to the community, the volunteers and the sponsors for supporting Classics on Kent. See you next year on Sunday, July 21st!
