Tour of Naunihal Singh's Haveli
Dating from the Sikh era of the mid-19th century, the haveli is considered to be one of the finest examples of Sikh architecture in Lahore, and is the only Sikh-era haveli that preserves its original ornamentation and architecture.
The haveli was built around 1830 or 1840 for Nau Nihal Singh, by his grandfather and founder of the Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The mansion was intended to be a personal residence for Nau Nihal Singh. The haveli has been used, since the British colonial era, to house the Victoria Girls' High School.

Virtual Photo Walks at the Parliamentary Library Ottawa Canada
Virtual Photo Walks and John Butterill were the guest of Member of Parliament & Deputy Speaker of the House, Barry Devolin who took time out of his busy day to show us the Parliamentary Library.
After the VPW event we got a private tour of some ante rooms off the House of Commons, not open to the public, and see some of the MP's at work.
We thank Barry for giving of his time and support to Virtual Photo Walks and the disabled community.
Barry Devolin was first elected as the Conservative MP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock in June 2004 and re-elected in January 2006, October 2008, and May 2011.
Devolin has served the 40th and 41st Parliaments as an Assistant Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chair of the Committees of the Whole. He has also served as Co-chair of the Canada Korea Inter-parliamentary Association, and Government Liaison with the Korean Community since 2006.
The Library of Parliament is the main information repository and research resource for the Parliament of Canada. The main branch of the library sits at the rear of the Centre Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario, and is the last untouched part of that larger building's original incarnation after it burned down in 1916. The library has been augmented and renovated a number of times since its construction in 1876, the last between 2002 and 2006, though the form and decor remain essentially authentic.
The main reading room rises to a vaulted ceiling and the walls and stacks are lined with white pine panelling carved into a variety of textures, flowers, masks, and mythical creatures. In the galleries are displayed the coats of arms of the seven provinces that existed in 1876, as well as that of the Dominion of Canada, and standing directly in the centre of the room is a white marble statue of Queen Victoria, sculpted by Marchall Wood in 1871. The northern galleries are also flanked with the white marble busts of Sir John Sandfield Macdonald; Prince Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII); Alexandra, Princess of Wales (later Queen Alexandra); and Sir Étienne-Paschal Taché.
The library's collection comprises 600,000 items, covering hundreds of years of history and tended by a staff of 300.[ Access to the facility is generally restricted to those on parliamentary business, but research publications are produced by the library and are available to the public. The main branch on Parliament Hill is only the central hub of a larger complex that spreads to other parliamentary buildings, where services are offered in a number of branch libraries and reading rooms.
Thanks to +John Butterill for helping to organize these Virtual Photo Walks.
