AHA 2015 Winner: Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall
Two monuments built at different times for distinct purposes, Victoria Theatre (circa 1862) and Victoria Concert Hall (circa 1905) have been elegantly rejuvenated with great skill and conceptual finesse. Taken together, restoration and improvements to the buildings have made these major cultural and architectural landmarks newly relevant and resplendent, adding to their aura of Neo-Classical grace and grandeur. This short film is produced by Elyse Yap, Dylan Ang, Gladys Bay, Lena Lee and Faith Chan from NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.

Take a peek at Singapore's oldest performing arts centre, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, as it holds an open house over the weekend (July 19 and 20). Established in 1862, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall will be opening its doors once again after undergoing four years of refurbishment, restoration and redevelopment.

Let’s Go To The Concert! Kids Attend A Concert For The 1st Time | Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall
Hello! The children will be going to their 1st concert. We will be attending the concert at the beautifully renovated Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall (Singapore). The interior has been refurbished tastefully with modern comforts and acoustic improvements while the historical facade has been painstakingly maintained and remains intact. The concert programme is an inspiring mix of classical, traditional and modern music as well as dances (and even a puppet show from Laos!) by young emerging talents from across Asia. We’re all so excited.
Going to concerts is a culturally enriching experience for children. They learn to appreciate the beauty of classical music, the sounds of traditional instruments that they’ve never heard before and the diversity of people and culture around us. Furthermore, they also learn politeness & etiquette which is the way to behave appropriately in such social situations.

Sean Nicholas Alexander's dad was a member of the Asean Youth Symphony Band 1992 ????????????. 2nd row, middle. Very very memorable event. To pass the audition n performing together with other young musicians from Asean. We performed difficult repertoires such as: Dvorak Symphony no 9 (New World Symphony), Tales of Tong On etc
Concert Series: Gloria at Victoria Concert Hall
Under the direction of esteemed English conductor Nicholas Cleobury, the NAFA Orchestra and Chorus presented an all-French programme at the Victoria Concert Hall on 19 April 2016. Cleobury describes the programme, which included Maurice Ravel's Mother Goose Suite. Pianists Lena Ching and Nicholas Ong, faculty members of the Keyboard Studies programme at the NAFA School of Music, were the soloists for Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra in D minor. NAFA alumna and Indonesian pop sensation Isyana Sarasvati appeared as soprano solo in Poulenc's Gloria.
