VICTORY MONUMENT BANGKOK | The Biggest & Busiest Roundabout In Bangkok, Thailand
Victory Monument in Bangkok is the biggest and busiest roundabout in Bangkok, Thailand.
Victory Monument in Bangkok is a transport hub for commuters interchanging from, the Skytrain, bus, minivan & taxi.
In the center of the roundabout is an Obelisk monument, which was erected in June 1941 to commemorate the Thai victory in the Franco-Thai War. Five statues are placed around the Obelisk to honor the army, navy, air force, police, and populace.
There is an abundance of food, markets, and malls all around the roundabout. So it's not purely a transport hub.
I would say this is one of the popular landmarks in Bangkok, so be sure to check it out when you are in town.

Thai Boat Noodles in Bangkok at Victory Monument (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ)
Go to for more travel and street food!
Bangkok is a huge city, but the city comes together into a few central hubs, one of them being Victory Monument (อนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิ).
Victory Monument is one of the transportation centers of Bangkok, a lively roundabout that always flowing with traffic of all kinds and bustling with people. In Thailand, as in much of the world as well, where there are lots of people, there will be lots of street shopping and lots of street food as well.
Not only can you catch a Bangkok bus, van, taxi, motorbike taxi or the BTS skytrain, you can walk around the entire circumference of Victory Monument (อนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิ) and snack all the way around.
In this video first I stop at a stand selling all kinds of dried and salted fruit. Be sure to try the dry grapes, they are intensely sour and salty on the outside making them a real strange and surprising treat. They are small but will definitely wake you up!
Street bottles of freshly squeezed bright orange juice are everywhere on the streets of Bangkok and Victory Monument is no different. I stopped at a stall to pick up a bottle of orange juice - and despite it being quite sweet, it was indeed very refreshing! The bottle of orange juice cost a total of 50 Thai Baht.
A visit to Victory Monument in Bangkok would be incomplete without a visit to the boat noodle alley, one of the most delicious activities to do in Bangkok.
The noodles are served in small bowls, so it's customary to eat a lot of bowls and stack them up on the edge of your table. Eat and eat and eat, and when you're done, the waiter simply counts your bowls and tallies up your bill from how many bowls you ate.
Thai boat noodles are extremely delicious, flash blanched rice noodles bathed in thick rich porky broth along with a few sprigs of morning glory, some pieces of meat, and a few pork meat balls. If you're hungry in Bangkok, boat noodles will come to the rescue!
If you're looking for what to do in Bangkok, make sure you include a walk and and eating tour of Victory Monument on your itinerary!

CHEAP THAI STREET FOOD NEAR VICTORY MONUMENT | Bangkok, Thailand
I found a street full of cheap Thai street food near Victory Monument in Bangkok, Thailand.
This cheap Thai street food is located in Ratchawithi 18 Alley, just about 5-10min walk from Victory Monument BTS station.
There were plenty of people around at this time, all buying dinner before they head home. They have loads of different Thai street food and I also found not 1, but 2 street vendors that makes these delicious Thai mushroom soup.
This is the first time I have ever seen these mushroom soup selling on the streets before. It's awesome! Now I know where to go if I ever want some.
It's a small strip, but it has lots of street food around.
If you continue walking before the street food, which I have done, you will come to the more local areas of Bangkok, Thailand.
You will be surprised by what you'll find at the end of this street. I know I was :)

I've never been beyond Victory Monument in Bangkok, Thailand before. So today I did just that.

As you can see from the video, I wandered down the main road where it was filled with street vendors on the footpath.

VICTORY MONUMENT #2? | Wongwian Yai (Big Roundabout), Bangkok, Thailand
Is this Victory Monument #2? This roundabout is called Wongwian Yai (Big Roundabout), Bangkok, Thailand.
It's a large roundabout in Thonburi which has a statue of King Taksin in the center.
This roundabout is near Wongwian Yai Station, a historical commuter railway. Which is surrounded by local markets and streets vendors.
Wongwian Yai reminds me a lot of Victory Monument, but less crowded. But the same amount of traffic.
HOW TO GET HERE
The BTS SILOM LINE and get off at WONGWIAN YAI BTS STATION. Walk along THANON KRUNG THON BURI (away from the Chao Phraya River).
TURN RIGHT onto SOMDET PHRA CHAO TAK SIN RD, when you reach the big intersection.
Walk all the way down and you will see WONGWIAN YAI right in front of you.
Good luck & safe travels.
