This video was filmed with a GoPro Hero 3 mounted on the windshield of our car as we drove from Bol to Vidova Gora, the highest point on the island, and the highest point on any island in the Adriatic Sea. This was shot on 5 July 2015, and runs at 5x normal speed.

Bol view from Vidova Gora, Island Brac, Croatia
Bol is a town on the south of the island of Brač in the Split-Dalmatia County of Croatia, population 1,661 (2005).
Bol (its name derive from the Latin word vallum) is renowned for its most popular beach, the Zlatni Rat (Golden cape). It is a promontory composed mostly of pebble rock that visibly shifts with the tidal movement, a unique sight. The sea at Zlatni Rat and, indeed, the entire area is quite crystalline (and somewhat colder than usual), due to the strong current of the strait it is situated in. On a still day the stones on the sea-floor that are 30 feet down look only an arm's length away, and there are spectacular pine trees that grow down the middle of Zlatni Rat (there is a beach on either side of the horn). Bol itself is a very popular tourist destination and has a number of harbourside bars and restaurants. Bol is a popular place in the Adriatic Sea, known for good wind surfing conditions.
Vidova gora (778m) is the highest peak on the island.

Vidova Gora, Zlatni Rat, Bol, Croatia
Vidova Gora, Zlatni Rat, Bol, Croatia. Vidova Gora a dalmáciai Brac sziget legmagasabb pontja a maga tengerszint feletti 778 méterével.
Vidova Gorát könnyű felismerni a ráépült tv-torony miatt.

Vidova Gora on the Island of Brac // Croatia [4k]
Vidova Gora is the highest peak of The Island of Brač at elevation of 780m over the see level. On the plateau of Vidova Gora there is a forest with typical pine woods. The trail starting point is at the coast in Bol near famous Zlatni Rat beach. Vidova Gora is a nice vantage point and you can see most of the islands of South Dalmatia.
Vidova Gora is the highest peak of the Croatian islands, from where you can see one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - Zlatni Rat in Bol. This Brac mountain is 778 meters high, so it is no wonder that except Zlatni Rat, from the same place you can see island of Hvar.

Bol is situated on the southern part of the island Brac, and is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. This little town was founded long ago and became an extraordinary tourist oasis because of the wide gravel and sandy beaches which expands over 10 km and the sources of drinking water. It is not possible to avoid the Zlatni rat, certainly the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic sea, whose cape is turning one moment to one side and the other moment to the other side playing a strange game with the wind and the waves.
Above Bol is rising the coronet of Bols hills, the illlyrian fortress Kostilo (660 m) and the Vidova gora (778 m), the highest top of the Adriatic islands. Bol is only 15 km away from the international tourist and sports airport Brac, and excellent connected with the fast lines to the coast, but also with a ferry- line from Supetar.
Bol actually has a lot to offer to everyone. You can relax at the beach and get some tan, or you can be active as much as you like. Outdoor activities in Bol include hiking, scuba diving, windsurfing, kite surfing, quad rides, sightseeing (museums, galleries, traditional architecture), para-sailing, banana and tube rides, water skiing, free climbing and much more.
Bol also offer wide variety of restaurants and bars for you to choose from. Most restaurants offer local and Mediterranean specialties, most popular being ‘Lamb on a spit’ and ‘Octopus under Peka’. If you like trying different food you should definitely try ‘Vitalac’ which is a dish authentic to island Brac.
Bol has a lot to offer accommodation wise. First of all, there are four large hotels, many small family owned hotels and also vast selection of private self-catering apartments in Bol for you to choose from. Hotels in Bol offer all inclusive or half board service, with two hotels offering many activities, animation and wellness centers. Bluesun hotel Elaphusa has huge wellness that covers 3000 square meters and all the water inside is sea water (swimming pool, three Jacuzzi and treatment baths). Four major hotels in Bol ( Three Bluesun hotels: Elaphusa 4*, Borak 3* and Bonaca 3* all inclusive family hotel, and Hotel Bretanide 3* all inclusive) are located half way from Bol center to Zlatni rat beach, by the promenade, all close to the sea. Most hotels have minimum stay of 3+ nights, but you can also stay one to three nights with extra payment of 30% daily rate.

Top 3 things to do/visit in Bol:
Vidova Gora
Highest point in the Adriatic and can be reached by foot or if you are time limited the local taxi will whizz you up and knows where to stop to get the best views for photos. The peak is breathtaking and should not be missed.
Zlatni Rat Beach
You will not be disappointed with this beach. May is quieter and still reasonably warm-hot. Apparently less busier than peak season.
Blaca
A beautiful centuries old monastery called Pustinja Blaca can be found here built into a rock cliff. The priests and their helpers fought off pirates from the seas below and lived a self sufficient life making all their own food and wine on site. One guide works the monastery and he provided a lively and very interesting tour filled with stories and history.
