A fábrica de Cerâmica Vieira é hoje um museu vivo na Lagoa.
Fundada em 1862, por Bernardino da Silva, pertence à mesma familia há cinco gerações, mantendo desde então um padrão de fabrico artesanal, que dá ao barro as mais valiosas formas, a que nos acostumamos todos de apelidar de “Loiça da Lagoa”.
Um local de paragem obrigatória para quem nos visita, mas também para os mais novos, podendo desta forma aprenderem a arte secular de moldar o barro, transformando-o nos mais diversos objetos de arte.

Lagoa do Fogo: the beautiful crater lake at the island of São Miguel, Azores
Lagoa do Fogo (Lake/Lagoon of Fire) is a crater lake within the Água de Pau Massif stratovolcano in the center of the island of São Miguel in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. The highest lake located on the island of São Miguel, the region is protected by governmental regulation that does not permit the construction around the lake.

AZORES: Gorreana tea plantation & factory - São Miguel Island
Since 1883 the company Gorreana produces black and green tea. It's a Portuguese company (in the family for five generations) headquartered on the Island of São Miguel in the Portuguese Azores. It is the oldest and currently only remaining tea factory in Europe. The tea is 100% biological: totally free from chemicals as herbicides, fungicides, pesticides and conservatives because natural tea plagues do not survive on the islands climate.
Green and black tea was introduced in the island in 1750, brought by ships returning from the Eastern world. The tea is made of dried leaves of the plant “camellia sinensis”, a small three of the Theaceae family. All tea comes from this plant and its hybrids. The difference in teas is based on the leaf selection and processing.
