Du Hang Pagoda Hai Phong - Vietnam Explorers
Du Hang Pagoda Hai Phong - Vietnam Explorers
Du Hang Pagoda was established in the 17th century under the Ly Dynasty and went through several reconstructions over the years. It features a pagoda, a bell tower, many sophisticated carvings of guardians, Buddha images, lovely gardens with an interesting bonsai collection and some important vintage objects. Bring along some bread if you want to feed the turtles and fishes in a small pond within the compound too. Basically, a ‘dress with respect’ attitude is best when entering any religious sites in Vietnam.

23km Motorbike Ride During Tet - Hai Phong to Tien Lang, Vietnam
During the recent Lunar New Year holiday (called Tet in Vietnamese), my girlfriend and I went to Hai Phong city, where she is from. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, we drove 23km southwest of Hai Phong city to a small town called Tien Lang, where her uncle lives, to spend time with relatives, eat food, and drink rice wine.
This video is the entire 23km motorbike ride down there. Some of the audio was altered to get rid of massive wind noise as well as cover up some conversations my girlfriend and I had while driving.
I hope you enjoy this chill motorbike journey video and see what normal driving is like in Vietnam. Thanks for watching!

Hai Phong The City of the Red Flamboyant at the mouth of the Cấm River, Vietnam
Exploring the streets of Hai Phong, Vietnam's largest port. Near the Cam River is a small market where women were selling live chickens and ducks.
Du Hang Pagoda, the centre of Buddhism in Hai Phong, is a very pure and graceful temple that was built in 17th century with some renovations being completed afterward. The pagoda contains a lot of amazing woodworks, bronze statues and a bonsai collection right on the front grounds. An array of Buddha and Bodhisattva statues highlight a circular pond of water lilies in a flowery garden and a tranquil towered-grave yard, where the monks who had resided in the pagoda are buried.
