Vietnam War Remnants Museum-Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
The War Remnants Museum in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) features photographic exhibits and war memorabilia from the Vietnam War and the story is told from the point of view of the Communist North Vietnamese government. As I say in the video, it's best not to eat before viewing some of the photographs, which can be quite graphic.
The museum originally opened in 1975 as the Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes located in the premises of the former United States Information Agency building. In 1990, the name changed to Exhibition House for Crimes of War and Aggression, dropping both U.S. and Puppet. In 1995, following the normalization of diplomatic relations with the United States and end of the US embargo from a year before, the references to war crimes and aggression were dropped from the museum's title as well; it became the War Remnants Museum It is one of the most popular museums in Vietnam, attracting approximately half a million visitors every year. According to the museum's own estimates, about two-thirds of these are foreigners.

We had an amazing first day in Ho Chi Minh City aka Saigon District 1. We started our day with a great breakfast at our hostel, walked over to the Ben Tanh Market, then to the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and then an uber to the Buddhist Temple in China Town. Hanoi, Vietnam Travel - Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi
Take a tour of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, Viet Nam -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Hanoi, Vietnam once the site of great turmoil and strife has become a metropolis of culture and history.
A monument celebrating the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a site of great stature.
The memorial was constructed in Ba Dihn Square where Ho Chi Minh read Vietnam's Declaration of Independence in September of 1945.
This magnificent building was constructed with an exterior of gray granite and a black and red stone interior.
Within the central hall is the preserved body of Ho Chi Minh, regularly maintained and open for viewing and venerating.
The mausoleum is surrounded by beautiful gardens that grow close to 250 different types of Vietnamese flora.

IndiGo inaugurates flights from Kolkata to Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City
India’s largest passenger carrier IndiGo on Friday commenced direct daily operations between Kolkata and Ho Chi Minh City, the commercial capital of Vietnam. IndiGo’s Associate Director, Arvind Bhandari said, “We are launching our second flight to Vietnam. Our first flight response was fantastic and today we are connecting to the second city of Vietnam. We are happy about it.” At present, the airline is on a massive international expansion plan. It has already launched 4 flights in the last 5 weeks to Myanmar, China, Vietnam and Kuwait. Currently, it flies to 60 domestic and 23 international routes.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum-Hanoi, Vietnam (With Tour Guide History Lesson)
It was eerie to see the dead body of Ho Chi Minh lying in state after 45 years. There wasn't much light inside and there were guards everywhere so any chance of sneaking some video of the body went out the window. My guide eloquently explains the life and death of Ho Chi Minh, former Prime Minister and President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam).

My thoughts on the Vietnam War Museum | Ho Chi Minh City
Well today was slightly depressing as we paid a visit to the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The museum is centered around the war taking place in and around Vietnam from the 1950's - 70's in a conflict mainly involving the North Vietnamese against the South Vietnamese and their American allies. While in the United States we generally refer to it as the Vietnam War in Vietnam it is known as The Resistance War Against America (Kháng chiến chống Mỹ) or simply The American War.
It's a place everyone should see if you visit the nation's capital of Ho Chi Minh, aka Saigon. While it doesn't make for an easy or light hearted day, the war played a huge part of Vietnam's recent history and is what put the current government there into power. Besides the political implications, many citizens, especially in rural areas, are still dealing with the effects from the chemical weapons used, known as agent orange.
I think it's important to keep the darker parts of history alive so that hopefully future generations can find a way not to repeat the past. I also think it's remarkable that a county which was at full out war with mine not so long ago is now one of our allies and one of my favorite places in the world to visit.

Uncle HO Memorial Park | HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM
Ho Chi Minh, original name Nguyen Sinh Cung, also called Nguyen Tat Thanh or Nguyen Ai Quoc, (born May 19, 1890, Hoang Tru, Vietnam, French Indochina—died September 2, 1969, Hanoi, North Vietnam), founder of the Indochina Communist Party (1930) and its successor, the Viet-Minh (1941), and president from 1945 to 1969 of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). As the leader of the Vietnamese nationalist movement for nearly three decades, Ho was one of the prime movers of the post-World War II anticolonial movement in Asia and one of the most influential communist leaders of the 20th century.
