WELCOME TO BEAUTIFUL SAINT LUCIA: VIGIE BEACH

Hope parts of this video don't make you nauseous, it was a bit shaky. But I wanted to share my Vigie Beach morning vlog with you. On Saturdays, my routine after coffee is quite simple... A nice walk on the beach along with some breakfast at my parents' house.

Walk with me along one of my FAVORITE beaches on St. Lucia. This beach is right next to George F.L. Charles airport as well as Choc cemetery. And it's one of the few unspoiled beaches in St. Lucia. I'm not a fan of resorts as I think they strip beaches of their NATURAL beauty.

So here, have a taste of some of this NATURAL beauty on my beautiful island.

Vigie Beach review St Lucia 2017 3 minutes

I am uploading this video because in the cruise world Vigie Beach does not get a lot of notice, but a lot of people ask about it because it looks like a close walk from the cruise port. It is walkable, but you can't go across the airport, so you do have to go around the airport. Like any airport it is closed off by a fence. It took us about 30 minutes to walk to it, it's an easy flat walk and we enjoyed it. The beach wasn't really worth the walk, unless you enjoy just walking and enjoying the view. We did not swim or get in the water, there were no facilities to change, no chairs to rent or snacks to be had anywhere. It was a nice quiet walk to the beach and lovely to walk the beach. It did not seem to be maintained much, although there was a grounds crew cleaning the beach when we were there. It seemed like the beach would be fine for wading, people at the resort down the beach were doing water activities The beach rests right up against the graveyard, even to the point where it seemed a few graves had washed into the beach in years past, maybe hurricanes. It was a picturesque grave yard and we did walk thru it. We also went to the right (facing the ocean) and walked into the resort area for the resort that was there. We walked thru the resort to get back to the road and a guard at the road was quite upset that we walk thru the resort, we explained there were no signs and no one told us we couldn't walk there. The grounds of the resort were quite nice. Would I go there again, probably not, am I glad I went, yes, it was fun to see a new part of the island. A side note, when we were back to the road, instead of going back to the port, we went more thru the town area, noticed we were really alone, a guy who seemed to be an American who lived there, told us we were in a really bad area and we should head right back to port. He walked with us aways. I didn't not feel unsafe in the beach area or on the way, only when we veered into town.

Took a short walk today on the Vigie beach in st.lucia. the wind was a bit strong but the sun was out and the day went well.

A Hidden Gem in St Lucia - Vigie Beach

If you up in the north of St Lucia, you must visit Vigie beach. A lot of the locals go there as it easy to access. Vigie Beach is in the northwest of St Lucia close to Castries by the airport.

Bel Jou to Vigie Beach, Castries March 2019

We recently stayed at the lovely Bel Jou Hotel in St Lucia. It sits on a ridge high above Castries commanding fantastic views. The Hotel runs a shuttle service to Vigie Beach - about 5 minutes drive away. People often ask whether it is walkable. Watch this video and the return journey to make up your own mind. Personally I wouldn't dream of it given the distance, the heat and steep slopes - you have a friendly, skilled local to take you there for free! Vigie Beach is a great long, sandy and quiet beach.

Vigie Beach in Next to the Vigie Airport in Castries. Just walk across the road from the airport and you are into one of the finest beaches on Island. Inspite of the closeness to the airport, it is relatively calm and quiet. Your feet will be massaged by fine sand and there is a canopy of tree cover should the sun become unbearable. It is one of the best and is currently not captured by any hotel.
