Speed- boat trip to Tallinn | Helsinki-Tallinn-Helsinki, Linda line
A short visit to Tallinn by a Linda Lina catamaran. Due to changed timetable I had only 2,5 hours time on the land. This was first time travelling on a catamaran speed-boat for me. Morning crossing took over 2,5 hours due to some kind of motor problem on the vessel (this was announced in advance). Return journey was fast, average speed 60 km/h. Distance between Helsinki (Finland)-Tallinn (Estonia) is about 70 km.
Catamarans do not run if it is stormy (wind over 15m/sec). Linda line has used catamarens for several years, the traffick was started by hydrofoils in the 1990's but Lnda changed to catamarans in 2008

This trip (day cruise) cost 35,80 euros (bought 1 mounth before on the Internet site)

Passenger/car ferries traveling baltic sea between Sweden and Finland in the frosen baltic sea.
Ferry Estonia-Finland | M/S Nordlandia
Ferry Estonia (Tallinn)-Finnland (Helsinki, West Port). M/S Nordlandia (Eckerö Line).
There are over 10 daily ferry connections by 3 different companies (Tallink, Viking Line, Eckerö line) and a catamaran service (LindaLine). Catamarans do not take cars. M/S Nordlandia is the slowest (crossing takes about 3,5-4 hours) and oldest ferry on this route. It is also the only totally Finnish ferry (under flag of Finland). Viking Line is a Finnish company but the ferry sails under Swedish flag. Eckero line usually has also the cheapest tickets - if you do not have a cabin onbord. Cabin costs around 20 euros but it increases travel comfort.
Estonia: The Life and Death
Hello guys, in this video I thought I'd make a video on the sinking of Estonia, also, this did take me a while to edit, so please give it a like and subscribe to me while you're at it ;) I included the Silja Europa in this video, due to it rescuing the survivors when Estonia slipped beneath the waves on that stormy night in September, 1994.
Estonia is a roughly 509ft long, and could hold 2000 passengers and crew. On that night, however. She had little less than 1000 passengers; 854 died, most of them Swedish and Estonian.

Cruiseferry Viking Line M/S Viking Cinderella in Tallinn, Estonia (Disembarkation)
Disembarkation in Tallinn, Estonia.
This is my trip to Tallinn, Estonia. The cruiseferry Viking Line M/S Viking Cinderella was temporarily put on the Helsinki-Tallinn route, from 14.12.2013 until 07.01.2014, so this time, I took the chance to finally (after so many years!) get onboard the (in my opinion) best cruiseferry in the Viking Line fleet (as of today)!
Estonia/Tallinn (Harbour&Toompea Hill) Part 3
Welcome to my travelchannel. On my channel you can find almost 1000 films of more than 70 countries.
See the playlist on my youtube channel.Enjoy!
Old City Harbour&Toompea Hill:
Old City Harbour is one of the biggest and busiest passenger harbours in the Baltic region. It is also the biggest passenger harbour for both Port of Tallinn and Estonia.
Tallink, Eckerö Line and Viking Line boats and ferries depart from the Old City Harbour for Helsinki, as well as the Tallink vessels operated on the Tallinn - Stockholm route and St. Peterline vessels on the Tallinn - St. Petersburg route.
Passenger service is available at three passenger terminals:
Terminal D – Tallink boats and ferries
Terminal A – embarkation for Eckerö Line, Viking Line and St. Peterline boats and ferries
Terminal B – disembarkation for Eckerö Line, Viking Line and St. Peterline boats and ferries
With its location in the very heart of the city of Tallinn, the harbour allows excellent access for passengers to the city centre; it is a superb berthing place for passenger and Ro-Ro ferries and cruise ships, during summer season also high speed vessels. Round the year regular lines of Tallinn-Helsinki, Tallinn-Stockholm and Tallinn-St. Petersburg are served.
In order to handle the ever increasing flow of cruise tourists, the Port of Tallinn is planning to construct an additional quay for cruise boats.
The development plans of the Port of Tallinn envisage the Old City Harbour being converted fully into a passenger port and therefore the cargo handling has been gradually moved out from the Old City Harbour and relocated into the Muuga and Paldiski South Harbours. As of today, the Old City Harbour terminals are handling predominantly Ro-Ro cargo (rolling stock) and to an extent also some break bulk cargo. The development plans for the territory released from under the cargo handling are closely associated with urban environment creation and real estate development.
Toompea is a limestone hill in the central part of the city of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The hill is an oblong tableland, which measures about 400 by 250 metres, has an area of 7 hectares (17 acres) and is about 20–30 metres higher than the surrounding areas. In folklore the hill is known as the tumulus mound over the grave of Kalev, erected in his memory by his grieving wife.
The history of Toompea is closely linked to the history of rulers and power in Estonia. Today Toompea is the center of the Government of Estonia and the Riigikogu (parliament), both of which are often simply referred to as Toompea. The location of the Riigikogu is the Toompea Castle, situated in the southwestern corner of the hill and topped by the Tall Hermann tower. The flag on the top of the tower is one of the best-known symbols in Estonia of the government in force.
Toompea is part of the Tallinn Old Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.Wikipedia
