European Destination Wedding at Villa Bologna in Malta!
We went kind of all out and spent 2 weeks in Europe with our family and closest friends. Pretty awesome to say the least! All photography by Shane P. Watts.

If you are in need of a photographer for an event in Malta or are planning a wedding in Malta:
Forgo a wedding planner. Their advice is not nearly as important as the photographers. If you want somebody for the day of, hire one to handle all the little stuff in the last minute. Ultimately, the photographer runs the show. Unless of course you use anyone but Shane, then you might have problems.
Step 1: Hire Shane Watts.
Step 2: Let Shane guide you to the best vendors and locations.
Step 3: Enjoy your event, which will be a sure thing since you utilized Shane's advice.
Step 4: Use what you save to pay Shane a bit extra. He deserves it.

Villa Bologna, MALTA - Restoring The Small Nympheum
A visit to the Agius Stoneworks workshop in Mqabba. The video shows a stone mason working on a mermaid for the Small Nympheum at Villa Bologna surrounded by other statues in various stages of completion.

Summer 2018 meant we swapped the glorious English sunshine for the beautiful Island of Malta. Malta really is one of our favourite places to travel to, and this visit didn't disappoint. We were over the moon to see Martina and Laetitia from Wed our way are Malta's number one wedding planners and it was great to hear how they are now also creating amazing weddings in Croatia and France. If you're interested in a destination wedding then we highly recommend dropping them an email. This years visit was for the beautiful wedding of Richard and Lorraine. Malta is famous for its epic Cathedrals and St Pauls in Mdina really is spectacular. After a traditional ceremony we then made the short trip to Villa Bologna to enjoy the rest of the day in their tranquil Mediterranean gardens.

Ceramika Maltija short documentary
This is a short documentary featuring workers, past and present, of Ceramika Maltija pottery in Attard, Malta to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
'Situated in the grounds of Villa Bologna, the Ceramika Maltija Pottery was established in 1952 by Cecilia de Trafford, daughter of Lord Strickland. She engaged the British potter Charles Bone with his wife Sheila Mitchell, the sculptress to set up the factory. When in 1954, her son Gerald returned from abroad she handed over the management to him and by the 1960s over 20 workers were employed, including some of the pioneers of contemporary Maltese Ceramics such as Ganni Bonnici and Neville Ferry. In 2009 Gerald passed on the management to his son Jasper de Trafford who returned to Malta from working in the UK to commence an extensive regeneration project. Three years into the project major changes can be seen with the gradual renovation of the premises and reorganisation of production methods. Today the Pottery also offers clay classes, art lessons and organises children's parties.
As with the original 1950's production, most of the ceramic work is slip cast white earthenware. This is underglaze painted by the Ceramika Maltija artists with brightly coloured fruit and fish designs, scroll patterns and lace sgraffito which are all clear glaze fired for a durable surface. Dolphin and pineapple lamps continue to be very popular with customers as do dolphin jugs, piggy banks, religious plaques, house names and numbers plates.'
