We weren't really sure what to expect prior to visiting South America's largest city, however, we found that in that midst of the crowds and chaos there were cool pockets filled with parks, street art, and an abundance of restaurants. Within the park grounds you’ll find the Afro-Brasil Museum, which is a contemporary museum that looks at African culture and influence in Brazilian society. And not too far from there, you’ll come across the Museum of Modern Art.
Batman Alley is located in Vila Madalena and it has become a popular tourist and Instagram spot. Apparently the place gets its name because the first piece of graffiti to go up was one of Batman back in the 1980s.
If you’re a football lover, this is a place you won’t want to miss.
Being the foodies that we are, we couldn’t skip the Municipal Market. Here you can find exotic fruits, fresh vegetables, meats, spices and even restaurants. We went there right around the lunch hour to try the famed mortadella sandwich.
From there, we visited Sao Paulo Cathedral. We only learned this after our visit, but there’s a crypt you can visit.
Next up we headed to the neighbourhood of Liberdade, which has the largest Japanese community in the world outside of Japan. We decided to hit up a sushi buffet for some food!
That evening we met up with our Brazilian friends, who took us out for a night on the town.
That morning we visited Pinacoteca do Estado, which is a cool art museum that focuses on works by Brazilian artist or works with Brazilian subject matter.
After that we headed over to Parque da Luz. This park is right next to the museum and it has a lot of interesting sculptures scattered about.
Sao Paulo’s Teatro Municipal first opened in 1911. The Martinelli building is 30 stories high and it was the first skyscraper in South America.
And that’s a quick look at how we spent 2 days in Sao Paulo. We hope you enjoyed this guide and that it gave you some ideas on how to tackle South America’s largest city. Four Brazilian musicians living in different countries form the band “Balaio”. They perform real, heavy, strong versions of instrumental Brazilian music, especially by valuing the rhythms and musical skills of each of the four members.
Balaio Quartet formed in a 2008 to play a Brazilian Project in China, where they touring since that has been touring all over China. In 2016, “Balaio Invite Randy Brecker touring with this legendary jazz musician, playing live for the first time the a show based in the 2009 Grammy award winning album, in a tour in China and through Europe.
“Balaio”, the Brazilian Instrumental Quartet, lead by Marco Bosco and Leonardo Susi, together they started the Balaio quartet in 2008 where they have been touring all over China since that and during September/October 2015 extensively toured China and Hong Kong, totaling 28 concerts in one month.
Leonardo Susi, the drummer, lives in Shanghai, and has performed throughout Asia, Europe and South America with artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Penfei, and Will I Am from the Black Eye Peas, John Legend, Gilberto Gil, Laura Figy, Tony Allen and the living legend Charles Aznavour among others. He can be seen playing as sideman and as leader in all of the most traditional jazz venues in China and in the Chinese Idol TV show.
Marco Bosco, a percussionist with 12 solo albums under his belt now lives in Brazil. Since his debut album live in Tokyo in 1980 and countless sound-tracks for TV and Radio commercials, he has worked with great names such as Nina Simone, Hank Jones, Paul Jackson, Fred Wesley, Egberto Gismonti, Ronnie Cubber, Simon Lebon, Dianne Reeves, Sadao Watanabe, Sergio Mendes, Oscar Castro-Neves Ivan Lins, Cesar Mariano and many others, in Brazil and abroad. He had win the USA Grammy in 2009 in the Randy Brecker album Randy in Brazil, and nominated for the Latin Grammy 2012 with the album Raiz of Leila Pinheiro.
Rubem Farias, electric and acoustic bass player, born in northeast of Brazil, lives in Stockholm, Sweden, since 2014. At the age of 10 years old move out to São Paulo, where he get in touch with Jazz and Instrumental Music and start his musical studies. With 7 solo albums he has performed with Brazilian and international artists like: Filó Machado, Pascoal Meirelles, Gilberto Gil, Renato Neto, Magnus Lindgren (SWE), Steinar Aadnekvam (NOR), Deodato Siquir (MOZ), Mafalda Minnozzi (ITA), Paul Ricci (EUA) Maria de Medeiros (PT). Rubem also coordinate and produce several concerts in Sweden and Brazil.
Adriano “Magoo” Oliveira, pianist, arranger and musical producer, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1974 and moved with family as a child to the Brazilian central area, in the capital of state South Mato Grosso's began playing in the Church with the age of 7 years old. At the age of 14 year old he started as a professional musician playing with bands and artists of his area and northern of Brazil.
As a record producer began producing advertising Jingles, soundtracks for movies like: Chega de Saudade (2010), Mouth (2012), special for TV: TV- Sertão Veredas, Latin Grammy Track Record in Brazil in 2009 (TV Bandeirantes).
In 1998 he moved to São Paulo, where he also established himself as a professional musician join the band of pop singer and composer Zeca Baleiro.
He participated in recordings and concerts also with artists such as: Tetê Espíndola, Almir Sater, Tom Zé, Chico Cezar, Alcione, Moska, Odair José, Zélia Duncan, Pinduca, Arnaldo Antunes, Bocato, Fagner, Geraldo Azevedo, Robin Gibb (Bee Gees), Felipe Mukenga, Martinho da Vila, Ney Matogrosso, Milton Nascimento. In 2001 recorded his first instrumental album, along with the Croa Trio of Campo Grande City, a mixture of the local music with jazz, ballad, samba and world music.
In 2017 will publish his first solo album.

High-level Brazil delegation at WH talking US aid
(30 Aug 2019) Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's son and the country's foreign minister are in the United States to discuss possible U.S. aid amid devastating fires in the Amazon region.
Bolsonaro said he had asked U.S. President Donald Trump for help and that Trump had said he couldn't make a decision without hearing from Brazil.
Son Eduardo Bolsonaro, who is a congressman, and Foreign Minister Ernesto Araújo spoke to reporters outside the White House's West Wing after their meeting with Trump.
It went very well, said Foreign Minister Araújo, adding that the American President Trump felt it was absurd to have some countries thinking Brazil should not have sovereignty over the Amazon and in some way, so (Brazil was) very grateful for that stance that he had.
Bolsonaro is considering appointing his son to be ambassador to the U.S., though the posting would need to be approved by the upper house of the Brazilian congress.
Trump's complimentary remarks about Bolsonaro and his handling of the Amazon fires contrast with criticism from French President Emmanuel Macron and some other European leaders.
A $20 million offer of aid from the Group of Seven nations to help fight fires and protect rainforest stalled after Bolsonaro said Macron would have to apologize for remarks he had made. Macron had questioned Bolsonaro's trustworthiness and commitment to environmental safeguards in a sharply personal dispute between the two leaders.
Some indigenous leaders say their communities are under pressure from farming and ranching expansion and that authorities are doing little to enforce environmental law.
Without offering evidence, Bolsonaro initially suggested that non-governmental organizations started the fires to try to damage the credibility of his government, which has called for looser environmental regulations in the world's largest rainforest to spur development.
On Thursday, Brazil banned most legal fires for land-clearing for 60 days in an attempt to stop the burning. Many fires were set in already deforested areas to open land for farming and pasture.
About 60 percent of the Amazon region is in Brazil. The Amazon's rainforests are a major absorber of heat-trapping carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Golf in Brazil
Brazil has excellent golf greens in its top travel destinations. Sao Paulo has dozens of golf clubs and greens. Rio de Janeiro - and its surroundings: Angra dos Reios, Buzios - has also world class golf. Iguassu Falls (in the inland south) and Manaus (at the heart of the Amazon) offer also top golf opportunities. And Bahia has some of the greatest greens of the nation in Trancoso, Costa do Sauipe or Comandatuba Island. There are around 100 clubs registered with the Brazilian Golf Federation, and 40 of them are located in the country's wealthiest state, São Paulo. Another 10 of the clubs are registered with the Rio de Janeiro Federation. The Brazilian Golf Federation (Confederação Brasileira de Golfe - CBG) and the WorldGolfDirectory.com have information on golf clubs and driving ranges throughout Brazil.
In Brazil, golf is a year-round sport. Although there is an official season which generally runs from February or March (depending upon Carnival) until November, this may vary from club to club. In São Paulo, the rainy season is December and January, with downpours almost every day in late afternoon or early evening.

World’s largest Naruto and Boruto Theme Park in Japan
Japan Naruto Theme Park and Boruto Theme Park located in Nijigen no Mori Awajishima. This is first look at currently the World's largest Naruto amusement park and Boruto amusement park located in Shinobi Zato also known as ninja village area of the National Park of Awajishima. The ninja village hosts 2 main mission areas guided by maki-mono (scrolls) chi-no-maki (earth scroll) and ten-no-maki (heaven scroll). This anime theme park will take you on a puzzle solving adventures. This is perfect play ground for all Naruto manga and anime lovers alike.
Also, this anime theme park has recreated an outdoor version of Naruto's favorite ramen shop, Ichiraku ramen shop where you can get Hakata style ramen. Ramen ichiraku's Naruto Ramen was quite delicious and would love to have another bowl at anytime. The shop also serves Naruto themed food.
Nijigen no mori where the Naruto theme park is located, is originally a giant national park so it’s actually a perfect spot to just hang out, relax and have a picnic.
In fact, Naruto theme park video is the first part of a 2 part series for the Awajishima area so if you are deciding to visit this area, then definitely stick around for the 2nd part of this video series.

Truckers Enter Fifth Day Of Strike In Brazil
A truck driver's strike in Brazil entered its fifth day on Friday. The mass protest has already caused shortages of essential products like gas. Operations at major airports have also been restricted due to the strike. The strike was triggered by a new pricing policy from the country's state-owned oil company. On Thursday, the Brazilian government and truck drivers' representatives announced a deal, which included reducing the price of diesel. But on Friday strikes continued, prompting Brazil's president to authorize the use of the armed forces to free roads blocked by truck drivers. It's unclear if the forces will actually be used to clear the roads or when the strike will actually end.

Brazil's three most populous states are experiencing their worst drought since 1930 according to the country's Environment Minister. The region of Sao Paulo, Brazil’s economic capital and home to 20 million people, is going through an unprecedented drought affecting livelihoods and industries. The causes are many: deforestation, global warming and poor public management of water resources.
