Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Village Medieval de Pals
Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Village Medieval de Pals
Pals is a medieval town in Catalonia, northern Spain a few kilometres from the sea in the heart of the Bay of Emporda on the Costa Brava. It lies on the C31 Palafrugell-L'Estartit road.
Pals has a historic centre on a hill surrounded by plains with a medieval Romanesque tower built between the 11th and 13th centuries, known as the Torre de les Hores (Tower of the Hours). A clock tower, it is 15 metres (49 ft) high.
The Gothic Quarter of the town has been substantially restored and there are cobbled streets interrupted by semicircular arches, façades with pointed arched windows and stone balconies. The town wall contains four square towers which date from the 4th century. The Josep Pla viewpoint (from which can be seen the fields of Empordà and the Medes Islands), the Plaça Major, the tombs in the Carrer Major and the Romanesque church of Sant Pere are other features of the town. There is an archaeology museum.
On the edge of the main town is Masos de Pals, which has a thriving urban centre and is popular as a location for holiday homes. Platja de Pals (Pals' Beach) is also a popular holiday location.

Musique bibliothèque you tube:first light of spring harvie s

The first documents mentioning Pals date back to the ninth century, when the castle was built. Because of the incessant wars that ravaged this region for centuries only the Keep of this defensive construction is still standing. This is a circular Romanesque tower built between the XIth Plan and the thirteenth century. 15 meters high, it is based on a natural rock platform. It is also called the Tower of the Hours (Torre de las Horas) since the fifteenth century, it was used as bell tower. The walls also will transport holidaymakers to the Middle Ages. One can fully go around the village. Four square towers of the twelfth century are still standing: Ramonet, Rom, Xinel-lo and Hospita.
That bring Pals?
In addition to the wonderful memories you leave the village, you can bring the handmade chocolate, a few bottles of wine of Emporda, permanent exhibition that will let you discover the history of wines and Cavas of Catalonia, and of course rice , grown at the foot of the village and is a flagship of the big kitchen catalane.Musique library you tube: first light of spring Harvie s

Spain Travel Guide - Visiting Pals
A small medieval town along Spain's Costa Brava.
Pals is a small village with a population of 2,000 people, and it is about 100 kilometers from Barcelona. In the region of Girona, Pals is located along the Costa Brava, which is a region still unspoiled. The town is most famous for its medieval architecture. There is an old castle, a Gothic church and medieval city walls.
What do you like about the town? Well, I knew it was from before, it is everything, it is nice, clean, cared for... and has some beautiful spots. And today is a beautiful day and we could enjoy it a lot. Then, you have these narrow, mysterious streets where you can lose yourself. Pals has many dragon legends, as residents has claimed to hear strange noises. There are also some nice shops and a golf club nearby, which is one of the best in Spain.
This is Restaurant Bonavista, a typical restaurant in Pals. They specialize in homemade food. We had paella and it tasted fantastic and very typical. Of all of our olive trees and grape wines, rice is the local specialty in here. And you can sample them in the local restaurant.
For how long have you lived in Pals? Since the day I was born - 47 years. What do you like most about Pals? That it is quiet and you live well here. When in Pals, you are always close to the view of the plains and the sea. I am Montse Triola, showing you Pals.

PALS COSTA BRAVA IS GREAT!
I'm in Pals, Costa Brava and it's great. We play the Pals Golf Course, visit the medieval village of Pals and have some incredible food to wrap it all up. This was a great day and if I ever spent considerably more time in Costa Brava, good chances it would be around Pals.
I'm in Costa Brava for 10 days as part of the #GolfCostaBrava campaign designed by Travel Concept Solution. The goal is to discover and highlight some of the best golf courses as well as things to do in Costa Brava, Spain.
