Imaginée par l’artiste Patricia Cunha du Collectif portugais Sexta-feira Produções, l’exposition Umbrella Sky s’empare du Village Royal pour quelques mois en 2019.
« Colorer la vie ! » tel est le leitmotiv de cette installation poétique ! Environ 800 parapluies suspendus dans les airs tout le long du passage viennent apporter gaieté et peps.
Les sculptures de l’artiste belge Dirk De Keyzer sont présentées en collaboration avec Galeries Bartoux.
???????? Imagined by the artist Patricia Cunha, the exhibition Umbrella Sky takes over Le Royal Village for a few months. “Color life!” is the leitmotiv of this poetic installation ! About 800 umbrellas suspended in the air all along the passage bring joy and vitality.
The sculptures by Belgian artist Dirk De Keyzer are presented in collaboration with Galeries Bartoux.

Paris' 8th Arrondissement is filled with beautiful places, but not much in the way of food that I would recommend. That's not to say you can't find some great stuff there though, so don't worry! Grab my guide to Paris here: for all the ideas you might need and more while visiting Paris.

This was my first time visiting Madeline and St Augustine, as well as le Village Royal (which is where the colorful umbrellas are located) in Paris' 8th arrondissement. Concorde and the Champs Elysees are usually much more accessible, along with the Arc de Triomphe.

Toute l'actualité sur C'est aujourd'hui le 3ème plus grand cabaret de France. Le Royal Palace est pourtant situé dans un lieu improbable, Kirrwiller, un village de 520 habitants dans la campagne alsacienne.
Il est dirigé depuis une 30è par Pierre Meyer, patron paternaliste, qui emploie près de 150 salariés.
Yves Couant nous emmène dans ce cabaret qui a déjà accueilli près de 5 millions de spectateurs.

Migration to the Indian Ocean island of Mayotte is common, yet it is the poorest part of France and the EU. What does the future hold?

Mayotte, an island in the Indian Ocean, is an overseas department of France. Part of the Comoros archipelago, Mayotte voted to remain French when other islands chose independence from colonial rule in the 1970s. But the people of Mayotte have come to regret the decision after years of feeling neglected by Paris. Mayotte is not only the poorest part of France. It is also the poorest part of the EU. Yet Mayotte remains a magnet for illegal migrants from the neighboring islands. The other Comoros Islands are even more deprived. Hadjarati Soumaila came to Mayotte on a fishing boat and now lives illegally in a slum close to the capital Mamoudzou. Three of her six children were born in Mayotte. Pregnant women frequently number among the migrants. They want to give birth to their children on French soil because health provision is better here and because they hope to gain French papers. The maternity hospital in Mayotte is also one of the biggest in the EU. Some 30 children are born here each day. Midwife Hairati Houdjati was born and grew up on the island. She thinks that France should do more for Mayotte and accuses Paris of simply ignoring and neglecting the island.
