WINE TOURING SOUTH AFRICA
Join us on our Vine Hopper Wine Tour in the Wine Capital of the World - South Africa's Stellenbosch!
We jumped on the vine hopper and visited 4 wineries (of 6) today. After tasting countless wines, we eventually had to call it quits... it was a LOT of wine.
Delheim was the top spot for sure.
Check back in a couple days when we head over to hunt for some caves en route to Cape Town!

SOUTH AFRICA - Stellenbosch wine tour
Stellenbosch is perhaps the most famous wine-producing region in South Africa. It is located just east of Cape Town within the Western Cape. Cabernet Sauvignon is the region's most widely planted grape variety. Merlot, Pinotage, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are also all grown throughout Stellenbosch
TOURING STELLENBOSCH SOUTH AFRICA
On our first full day in South Africa, we visited the wine country of Stellenbosch, just outside of Cape Town.
The area consists of many small towns like Paarl & Franschhoek -- both beautiful in their own ways.
Today, we toured around the area, getting in some incredible views from the hilltops.
Check back in a couple days for our experience on the Vine Hopper wine tour through the wine capital of the world - Stellenbosch!

From Cape Town we made our way to Stellenbosch, which contains South Africa's finest vineyards. We decided to go to Tokara wine estate for a luxurious lunch, after which we spend our second day vineyard hopping. Special to note was the Ernie Els Vineyard with a little golf course in the middle to play around.

#Stellenblog 2017: That Backpacker Explores Stellenbosch
Audrey from That Backpacker shares her Stellenbosch experience, Over the course of my week in Stellenbosch, I visited a total of 9 wineries and while this was a real highlight, I also discovered that Stellenbosch has a lot more going on beyond wine tourism!
They have restaurants galore, nature within arm’s reach, a vibrant nightlife scene thanks to the large student population, and a whole bunch of really cool tours and experiences that showcase a different side of Stellenbosch.

DID I SURVIVE AN ENTIRE WINE ESTATE TOUR ON A SEGWAY???
Riding a segway looked intimidating but once we got the hang of it, everyone was practically cruising. Meandering through acres of winelands on a segway (a two-wheel, self-balancing transporter) with the beautiful mountain ranges in the horizon is something I never dreamed of doing. This is an interesting way to learn about Spier’s heritage. The beautiful farm has noteworthy things like the water treatment plant which brings together technology, art and nature.
