Unique Vineyards of Lanzarote, Spain
Unique Vineyards of Lanzarote, Spain
Lanzarote Vineyards — It is absolutely incredible creation of human-hands. Colossal work of people in love with their deserted volcanic island. Lanzarote, the Canary Island, which is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 120 Kilometers off the coast of Africa. The island was discovered in 1312, by the Italian navigator Malosello Lanselloti, after whom the island was named. Lanzarote was formed after a volcanic eruption 15 million years ago. On its 860 square kilometer in area is three hundred Volcanoes. Over millions of years, their activity has created a unique fantastic relief resembling lunar landscapes. On the island is almost no rain, the weather is dry and hot. The entire island is composed of volcanic rock and sand. But despite this, there is growing grapes used to make great wine. Lanzarote was in fact the last of the Canary Islands to produce commercial wine and since 1775 they have continued to grow the vines in the unique traditional manor. Successfully engaged in agriculture was made impossible, Thanks to incredible ingenuity of the locals, though it cost them a huge labor.
Totally unique method was devised for the cultivation of grapes and other crops. Each vine is planted in the crated diameter of abut five miters and a depth of about one meter. This well is surrounded by a half-meter wall of stone, lined industrious islanders. The wall is designed to protect the plant from the wind, this wall is called Zocos. But this is not the biggest problem. Vineyards requires a lots of moisture, and thus on Lazarote even light rain — A rare visitors. And as without water, on the slopes, on the rocks almost manages to cultivate a quality of vine? And sometimes unfriendly to farmers island nature provides the necessary perfect natural complex: sea sunlight, mineral-rich soil and natural irrigation system !! Fly-out night dew is well absorbed and retained volcanic soil. Salty sear air created mineral-rich moisture, imparting a unique flavor grown grapes from which produce amazing to taste wines of Lanzarote.
Pit located with net precision, create amazing some unearthly landscape. If the soil is brown its look like a planet Mars. Now Lanzarote about 2000 hectares of Vineyards, mostly they are concentrated in the center and south of the island around the natural park of La Geria. From grapes harvested produce about two million liters of wine per year. Given the small area of the island, its not enough. Lanzarote is something to see. So just one day on the island, will brings a lot of positive emotion and leave a lot of pleasant memories. Like us and Join us at Xtreme Collections for more fun and knowledge.

Short Trip To A Lanzarote Vineyard With Wine Tasting
Preserving traditional winemaking on Lanzarote
The vineyards of La Geria on the Canary island of Lanzarote are a treat for the eyes. Traditionally each vine was protected by a hand-built wall of lava rocks to shield it from the wind. But over the past five or six years the region has come under threat as farmers abandon the land and the vines have been neglected. TUI Care Foundation supports a project to preserve this cultural heritage of traditional winemaking, by developing ecological winemaking on the island and providing locals with disabilities new opportunities for employment.

Vineyard on Lanzarote Island
It is more than amazing that a volcanic surface like the one on the Canaries can bring up plants like wine. It seems that there would´t be any water resources but surrounded by stone walls these tiny green things even produce tons of grapes every year

[4K] Lanzarote Beaches (2019) Famara Lanzarote Surf Beach
Famara beach (Playa de Famara) is one of the best Lanzarote beaches. Not only is it long and golden, but it's the heart of the Lanzarote surf culture.
Lanzarote weather is good all year around, (as are the rest of the Canary Islands,) which is why so many people come to surf in Lanzarote.
(And if you're tried all the best Lanzarote beaches Costa Teguise has to offer, Famara is about a 30 minute drive.)
The beach is next to Caleta de Famara, a small town full of surf schools, surf shops and a few great bars and restaurants. We start our video here in Caleta de Famara before heading to Famara Beach.

Lanzarote Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about the destination Lanzarote.
Lanzarote, the fourth largest of the Canary Isles, is of rocky splendour born of fire and water, a volcanic paradise and a bizarre, natural world of fiery mountains, beaches and fine vineyards. The route to the interior of the island travels through Yaiza which is centrally located and leads to several destinations. Its whitewashed buildings, streets and floral decorations are a joy to the eye. El Golfo is the last remnant of a volcanic crater whose torn apart caldera is partly covered by the Atlantic and where a small emerald green lagoon adorns the contrasting colours of black lava and deep blue sea. La Geria is a well known winegrowing region between Uga and Masdache in the mid-south of the island. In good years the vineyards produce up to five million gallons of Malvasian and Muscatel wine. César Manrique is undoubtedly the hero of Lanzarote. In his house in the village of Tahiche he converted natural lava bubbles that were trapped within the earth into numerous rooms of great character, all inspired by his creative mind. When the La Corona Volcano erupted, the Cueva De Los Verdes was created, a kilometre long cave system, between thirty to forty metres high. When the surface of the lava cooled and solidified, the remainder flowed beneath it and created a system of remarkable tunnels and caves. Lanzarote is the Black Pearl Of The Canaries and a sparkling gem set in the Atlantic!
