COUR D'ALSACE-LORRAINE Unique Real Paris tour of Hidden Gem in 12th arrondissement
Longer than my usual posts BUT le Cour d'Alsace-Lorraine can’t be done justice in a minute. Named in honor of France’s Alsace Lorraine region, lost after picking a fight with Germany (the ill-advised Franco-Prussian War, 1870) the cour d'Alsace Lorraine truly exemplifies the magic hidden, off-beat & very authentic character of Paris. Built mid 19th century it was until but MOMENTS ago a series of small'ish crumbling, dingy'ish warehouses, workshops, small factories, etc. It has just undergone a stunning and simply amazing renovation. There’s still cement dust in the air and cinder blocks scattered about but this is now Ground Zero for all that is cool, hip and progressive in the 12th –Paris’s 2nd largest, and is inhabited by authentic, individualistic, and friendly Artisans of many stripes, specialist Book Editors, steel-smiths, specialized high-end carpet restores and a raft of other high-end adjective salivating professions.
The cour now sports upbeat, charming, pastel hues more reminiscent of San Francisco's Painted Ladies or London’s Potobello Road. The businesses are limited to the ground floor. Above are apartments and homes. And the twain shall never meet. Cool, that.
FOR ANOTHER COOL PARIS STREET, SEE RUE CREMIEUX (12TH)

Today we are taking you all around to our favorite tourist spots that aren't typically on a Things to Do in Paris list. First we kick it off with a visit to The Louvre in the snow, and then follow us to Shakespeare and Comp any book store. This is one of the oldest book stores in Paris, and such a unique and quirky spot. We also visit Sainte Chapelle which has stained glass that easily rivals Notre Dame's stained glass. Why You Should Skip Paris | BEST PLACES IN FRANCE 2018
I'm so excited to share my top travel places in France today! So often, when you say you're going to France, people automatically assume you're going to Paris. Paris can be a wonderful city, but France has so many more gems to discover. I hope that you all enjoy my top French travel destinations. Let me know if there are any I left off!
1. Annecy
Situated at the base of the Alps, Annecy is a gorgeous lakefront city. It's not too big and not too small. It's gorgeous year-round and full of things to do in the city. When you get tired of walking around the Venice of the Alps, you're surrounded by nature. Take advantage of it and go on a hike... or paragliding!
2. Provence
Provence is my favorite part of France! I studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence in college, and that must have been when my love affair began. This region is filled with small, colorful towns that are rich in history. Make sure to visit in the summer and experience the lavender fields too!
3. Lyon
If you're still itching for a city experience, try out Lyon instead of Paris. Lyon is the 3rd largest city in France and is its gastronomic capital.
