The Urdaibai Reserve has a forest with an inclination to be an art gallery; although it could be a museum that changed to become a forest. It is not entirely clear. On their way into these domains of pines and brackens, the visitors will decide whether the Oma Forest is a creation of man -personified in the figure of the artist Agustín Ibarrola-, a creation of nature or both. The truth is that the place exists, gathers the winds coming down from Mount Oiz and the storms spread by the sea, and means a break with Basque landscape.
The entrance is free and the visit plan is an ode to free will. You must get lost in Oma, but with restraint: walking aimlessly among the barks turned into canvas and the rainbows planted in the trunks; looking for the trees' eyes and the human figures evoking the close Santimamiñe Caves, where our ancestors captured their artistic interests 12,000 years before. It does not matter if we cannot see some works or if we cannot find some coloured pines, since the groove will be here forever.

¡Bienvenidos a Camping Palau!

Travel Guide New Mexico Bosque del Apache Socorro New Mexico
Bosque del Apache is Spanish for woods of the Apache, and is rooted in the time when the Spanish observed Apaches routinely camped in the riverside forest. Since then the name has come to mean one of the most spectacular National Wildlife Refuges in North America. Here, tens of thousands of birds--including sandhill cranes, Arctic geese, and many kinds of ducks--gather each autumn and stay through the winter. Feeding snow geese erupt in explosions of wings when frightened by a stalking coyote, and at dusk, flight after flight of geese and cranes return to roost in the marshes.
In the summer Bosque del Apache lives its quiet, green life as an oasis in the arid lands that surround it.
The Refuge is 57,191 acres located along the Rio Grande near Socorro, New Mexico. The Refuge is located at the northern edge of the Chihuahuan desert, and straddles the Rio Grande, approximately 20 miles south of Socorro, New Mexico. The heart of the Refuge is about 12,900 acres of moist bottomlands--3,800 acres are active floodplain of the Rio Grande and 9,100 acres are areas where water is diverted to create extensive wetlands, farmlands, and riparian forests. The rest of Bosque del Apache NWR is made up of arid foothills and mesas, which rise to the Chupadera Mountains on the west and the San Pascual Mountains on the east. Most of these desert lands are preserved as wilderness areas.
Managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bosque del Apache NWR is an important link in the more than 500 refuges in North America. The goal of refuge management is to provide habitat and protection for migratory birds and endangered species and provide the public with a high quality wildlife and educational experience.

BioParc Fuengirola Zoo Malaga Spain 2018
A great new collaboration between TTT and Right Spain ! Let's journey through #Bioparc #Fuengirola. A park that champions a new model of zoo based on respect for nature and the preservation of natural species, a model which has already established itself as a flagship for Europe.
What Bioparc Fuengirola represents is a different concept of zoo. A zoological park where animals live side-by-side, recreating their natural habitat and so fostering their development at all levels. Visitors are stepping inside a true documentary of the deepest tropical woodlands. There is today no ethical sense in keeping wild animals in captivity unless this helps to preserve their species in the natural world. Bioparc Fuengirola stands out, among other aspects, for its architectural design as an immersion zoo, plunging visitors into the animals' native environment. The whole centre is intended as a stroll through an all-surrounding recreation of the creatures' original habitat, providing a solution of continuity between the physical space occupied by the public and by the animals, with the aim of expressing some of the magic involved in walking through the woodlands and discovering their inhabitants.

4K - The Cranes and Geese of Bosque Del Apache, New Mexico - Nature Relaxation Therapy
A few years ago, I went to Bosque Del Apache with @Natural Exposures to film a lens review for Panasonic. I'd never been to New Mexico and found it to be a naturally beautiful state. I collected a LOT of footage of the snow geese and sandhill cranes and the beautiful colors of the landscape. I've set that footage to calming and relaxing music here. Nature can be a healing and soothing force for humans. We have a special place within nature in that we can preserve and protect it. That's what the national refuge system is all about. These birds are magnificent and worth protecting and appreciating. Like so much of nature, they are under threat from habitat loss and ecological degradation. Only through caring and action can we leave the future generations of humans and animals a healthy environment and planet. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it.
From Wikipedia:
The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is located in southern New Mexico. It was founded in 1939 and is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is a favorite spot to watch the migration of the Sandhill cranes in the fall. The reserve is open year-round and provides safe harbor for its varied wildlife.
The name of the refuge means woods of the Apache in Spanish, named for the Apache tribes that once camped in the forests along the Rio Grande.
The heart of the refuge comprises approximately 3,800 acres (15 km2) of Rio Grande floodplain and 9,100 acres (37 km2) of irrigated farms and wetlands. In addition to this, the refuge contains 44,300 acres (179 km2) of arid grasslands and foothills of the Chupadera and San Pascual Mountains. About 30,000 acres (120 km2) of this is designated as wilderness. A twelve-mile-long (19 km) loop road divided by a cutoff into a Farm Loop and Marsh Loop allows automobile drivers excellent views of wetland wildlife and raptors, and there are several short (1.5 to 10 miles) walking trails. The road affords good views of the fields where crops are grown for the benefit of the birds under cooperative agreements with farmers. Adjacent to the Visitor's Center, a desert plant garden is maintained.
Terrain
About 7,000 acres (28 km2) in the center of the refuge are made up of flood-plains watered by irrigation systems connected to the Rio Grande. These flood-plains provide an essential habitat for cottonwood and honey mesquite trees, Goodings and coyote willows, and four-wing saltbushes. The plains are flooded periodically to give these plants the best growing conditions.
The flood plains also grow foods for the wildlife that need marshlands to grow. These plants include smartweed, millet, chufa, bulrush, and sedge. These marshlands begin dry, and are burned or turned over before they are flooded in order to produce fresh soil for the new plants. They are then flooded to become the breeding grounds for these marsh plants.
The Bosque del Apache is also made up of several acres of dry land. One unit contains 5,440 acres (23 km2) of scrubland and desert terrain that is connected to the Chihuahuan desert. This area is called the Chupadera Peak Wilderness Unit. In addition to desert terrain, the Chupadera Peak Wilderness Unit is characterized by tall, reddish cliffs.
I'm a nature cinematographer and I've collected a large library of footage over the years. I've decided to share them with you.
Most of these clips can be licensed as stock footage through Pond5 or directly through me.
If you are curious why there is little ambient sound, it is because I often did not capture it which is standard in the industry. On some, I used files that had the sound removed for stock footage purposes.
Bosque del Alba - For Sale - Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
Sawadee is a Thai greeting that means “hello and welcome,” and is encrusted in decorative tile above the front door of this unusual beach front home. Unimposing and plain from the outside, you will certainly feel welcome once you step through the front door and into this lovely 2000 square foot home. Decked out and sumptuous inside this one bedroom, one bath home is roomy and very well anointed. However, whereas the house is very nice, the property itself is transcendentally nice. It has 75 meters of raw sandy beach front, a spacious open maritime zone that is lightly forested with separated trees that provide shade and dappled sunlight dripping through in places. The home has a deck that looks out upon a slough that flows through the property from one side to the other and is vibrant with water birds and other wildlife. The property is titled and has its maritime zone paperwork in order and current; the slough is bridged to provide vehicular access all the way to the beach. There is a well onsite that is used at present for irrigation in the summer months. Water supply is from a spring in an adjoining property that is guaranteed to be sustained across a real estate title transfer. The property is located just fifteen minutes from the bustling peninsular capital of Puerto Jimenez but well beyond the reach of the power grid, so for the time being it is solar power only. The Carate highway passes right in front of the property, and though it is a gravel road at present, the national highway system has schedule it to be paved to the La Balsa road exit this year and then beyond Sawadee one km as far as the Sombrero region in 2020. Casa Sawadee is somewhat unique in the area in that it is really nice and very comfortable and does not have anything “rustic” about it. A live-in caretaker couple occupies a small caretaker home that is part of the property and provides ground maintenance and security. Though the ownership does not rent the home out to daily and weekly rentals, it is ideal for a vacation rental to offset maintenance costs when the new ownership is not in residence. The Osa Peninsula has 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity and boasts a wide range of activities nearby: surfing, zipline, tree climbing, waterfall rapelling, mangrove and inshore kayaking, recreational gold mining, wildlife tours, surfing, boating, inshore and offshore fishing, all of these are within easy reach and make possible a robust and healthy lifestyle. Also nearby: yoga, wellness centers, alternative lifestyles, ayahuasca expeditions into hallucinatory healing, organic produce, and all kinds of other things, anything you can imagine. Are you ready for a turnkey tropical beach paradise with all the bells and whistles needed to chill out in top shelf comfort? Look no further than Casa Sawadee in Costa Rica’s stunning Osa Peninsula. Call or write for more information or to schedule your showing.
Suicide Forest in Japan (Full Documentary)
The Aokigahara Forest is the most popular site for suicides in Japan. After the novel Kuroi Jukai was published, in which a young lover commits suicide in the forest, people started taking their own lives there at a rate of 50 to 100 deaths a year.
The site holds so many bodies that the Yakuza pays homeless people to sneak into the forest and rob the corpses. The authorities sweep for bodies only on an annual basis, as the forest sits at the base of Mt. Fuji and is too dense to patrol more frequently.
