BOSNIA: FIGHTING INTENSIFIES ALONG THE POSAVINA CORRIDOR
Natural Sound
Fighting intensified Sunday over a crucial Serb corridor in northern Bosnia.
Croats, Serbs and the Muslim-led Bosnian government are seeking to control a strategic corridor linking Serbia with Serb-held lands in Croatia and Bosnia.
For the second day fighting raged along the Posavina corridor in northeastern Bosnia.
Here Bosnian government soldiers armed with rocket propelled grenades and heavy machine guns move into position.
The corridor - only three miles (five kilometers) wide at the town of Brcko - is considered a key area in the conflict over territory.
Croats control land to the north of it while Muslim-led Bosnian government forces are pushing up from the south.
Tensions were also rising along another frontline area in Bosnia.
A Bosnian government soldier watches through his binoculars as fighting increased around Teocak, near the central-Bosnian government held town of Zenica.
Heavy artillery and mortar fire was exchanged between Serb and government forces.
As prospects of a political settlement disappear, fears are rising that there will be an all-out escalation of war.

FAMILY AT SKI MOUNTAIN | FUN FAMILY SNOW DAY
We went to Sarajevo the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit one of the skiing resorts. Its our first time to visit Bjelasnica Mountain.
Bjelašnica is a mountain in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is found directly to the southwest of Sarajevo, bordering Mt. Igman. Bjelašnica's tallest peak, by which the whole mountain group got its name, rises to an elevation of 2067 meters (6782 feet).
The first plan was to go on skiing me hubby and little Leila but unfortunately we have to bring the youngest also so we canceled our plan to go skiing, but rather just visit the ski resort and play sledding at Igman Mountain right next to Bjelasnica.
We are having fun as you can see but I wished we have more time since the kids are enjoying too specially my little girl.
During the 1984 Winter Olympics, Bjelašnica hosted the men's alpine skiing events, where brash Bill Johnson (USA) won the downhill after boldly predicting victory, overtaking Swiss ski legend Peter Müller who took silver. The American twins Phil and Steve Mahre took gold and silver in the slalom at Bjelašnica for the US as well.

Bihać, Una National Park (Štrbački buk waterfalls) ????????
ROAD TRIP ACROSS BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA (2017)
We traveled across Bosnia and Herzegovina for six days with our 4x4 off-road vehicle, exploring cities, castles, waterfalls, mountains and other sights and attractions! The places we visited included: Bihać, Una National Park, Jajce, Vlašić mountain, Sarajevo, Trebević mountain, Banja Luka and Kozara mountain.
In this first part of a multi-episode VLOG series, join us on our trip to the city of Bihać, located in the northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Unsko-sanski kanton (province). The crystal-clear Una river runs through the city of Bihać and makes this part of the country a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Locals enjoyed the summer heat, brought out their boats and took a refreshing swim in the chilly mountain river. After our visit to Bihać, we moved on to see some more sights in the surrounding area, including Brekovica village overlooking the Una river canyon, Ostrožac castle (unfortunately, it was closed!) and Una National Park with its impressive Štrbački buk waterfalls. Already on Day 1, we were glad to have our off-road vehicle, as the access road to the waterfalls turned out to be unpaved and in pretty terrible shape.
We had a great time in Una-Sana canton and think that this region has a huge potential for tourism, not only because of Una river but also thanks to the proximity to Plitvice Lakes National Park just across the border in Croatia.
In the second part of this video series, we will take you to Jajce and explore the old town, the fortress and the famous waterfalls right in the city center.
If you enjoyed watching, please feel free to like, share and subscribe to this channel. :)

SUMMARY
=======
Bosnia and Herzegovina ( ( listen) or ; abbreviated B&H; Bosnian and Serbian: Bosna i Hercegovina (BiH) / Боснa и Херцеговина (БиХ), Croatian: Bosna i Hercegovina (BiH), pronounced [bôsna i xěrtseɡoʋina]), sometimes called Bosnia–Herzegovina, and often known informally as Bosnia, is a country in Southeastern Europe in the Balkan Peninsula. Sarajevo is the capital and largest city.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is an almost landlocked country – it has a narrow coast at the Adriatic Sea, about 20 kilometres (12 miles) long surrounding the town of Neum. It is bordered by Croatia to the north, west and south, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast. In the central and eastern interior of the country the geography is mountainous, in the northwest it is moderately hilly, and the northeast is predominantly flatland. The inland, Bosnia, is a geographically larger region and has a moderate continental climate, with hot summers and cold and snowy winters. The southern tip, Herzegovina, has a Mediterranean climate and plain topography.
Bosnia and Herzegovina traces permanent human settlement back to the Neolithic age, during and after which it was populated by several Illyrian and Celtic civilizations. Culturally, politically, and socially, the country has a rich history, having been first settled by the Slavic peoples that populate the area today from the 6th through to the 9th centuries. In the 12th century the Banate of Bosnia was established, which evolved into the Kingdom of Bosnia in the 14th century, after which it was annexed into the Ottoman Empire, under whose rule it remained from the mid-15th to the late 19th centuries. The Ottomans brought Islam to the region, and altered much of the cultural and social outlook of the country. This was followed by annexation into the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, which lasted up until World War I. In the interwar period, Bosnia and Herzegovina was part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and after World War II, it was granted full republic status in the newly formed Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Following the dissolution of Yugoslavia, the republic proclaimed independence in 1992, which was followed by the Bosnian War, lasting until late 1995.
The country is one of the most frequently visited countries in the region, projected to have the third highest tourism growth rate in the world until 2020. Bosnia and Herzegovina is regionally and internationally renowned for its natural environment and cultural heritage inherited from six historical civilizations, its cuisine, winter sports, its eclectic and unique music, architecture and its festivals, some of which are the largest and most prominent of their kind in Southeastern Europe. The country is home to three main ethnic groups or, officially, constituent peoples, as specified in the constitution. Bosniaks are the largest group of the three, with Serbs second and Croats third. A native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of ethnicity, is usually identified in English as a Bosnian. Minorities, defined under the constitutional nomenclature Others, include Jews, Roma, Poles, Ukrainians and Turks. Bosnia and Herzegovina has a bicameral legislature and a three-member Presidency composed of a member of each major ethnic group. However, the central government's power is highly limited, as the country is largely decentralized and comprises two autonomous entities: the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, with a third region, the Brčko District, governed under local government. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is complex and consists of 10 cantons.
Bosnia and Herzegovina ranks highly in terms of human development, and has an economy dominated by the industry and agriculture sectors, followed by the tourism and service sectors. The country has a social security and universal healthcare system, and primary- and secondary-level education is tuition-free. It is a member of the UN, OSCE ...
