VOSKOPOJE ALBANIA
Voskopoje is located at a distance of 21 km from Korçë, in the mountains of southeastern Albania, at an altitude of 1160 meters. The village has a population of about 500. Because of its high altitude Voskopoje is a ski resort.
Toward the end of the 18th century, the city flourished due to commerce with Germany, Venice and Constantinople and it had various manufacturing plants, around 70 churches, banks, a printing press (the only other press of Ottoman Europe was in Istanbul), and even a university (The Greek Academy, or Hellēnikon Phrontistērion, founded in 1744
As a major trading and intellectual center of that time, it hosted the first printing press in the Balkans outside Istanbul, educational institutions and numerous churches

Albanian: Voskopojë; Aromanian: Moscopole; Greek: Μοσχόπολη or Βοσκόπολη; Turkish: İskopol or Oskopol is a village in Korçë County in southeastern Albania. During the 18th century, it was the cultural and commercial center of the Aromanians. At its peak, in the mid 18th century, it hosted the first printing press in the Ottoman Balkans outside Istanbul, educational institutions and numerous churches and became a leading center of Greek culture.
Exploring the Ancient Village of Voskopojë, Albania
About an hour drive away from Pogradec is the village of Voskopojë. It is known for a long history with many, many churches over the past few centuries. A friend and I drove up there to wander around a bit and explore some of the churches that are 300+ years old!

Korça is a very good base for exploring many tourist points located in the nearby mountains such as Voskopoja, Dardha, Vithkuqi and Boboshtica. These villages are well known for offering the possibility to practice many outdoor sports and activities. The area is also famous for the Byzantine churches of Vithkuqi and Voskpoja, whose walls were painted by famous medieval Albanian painters. Close to Korça you can visit Prespa Lake (which is the country’s largest National Park), Drenova National Park, the Illyrian tummulus of Kamenica, etc.

Ajo është nga Tirana dhe tregon se vjen shpesh. Mungesa e infrastrukturës bën që shumë shqiptarë t’i drejtohen pistave te skive ne vendet fqinje si Maqedoni, Kosove apo Mali i Zi.
