Destination Bicester (Town Centre Grand Opening 10th July 2013 )
The day has finally arrived! Bicester town centre development opens its doors to the public. Gone are the developers and the fences. Sainsbury's is open, VUE cinema is open plus a town centre face lift - with new shops and services on its way.
A relaxed atmosphere to the proceedings as the crowd swayed from the official openings (two speeches, a plaque unveiling, Sainsbury opened its doors and some hand pressing). Joined by the stars of the morning the Bicester Pioneer Regiment, local press, some street performers and local councillors the crowds soon realised that it was time for some shopping!

Gunwharf Quays Outlet Shopping Centre - Virtual Tour - Portsmouth - December 2019 | kittikoko
Gunwharf Quays is a shopping centre located in Portsmouth, UK. It was constructed in the early 21st century on the site of what had once been HM Gunwharf, Portsmouth. This was one of several such facilities which were established around Britain and the Empire by the Board of Ordnance, where cannons, ammunition and other armaments were stored, repaired and serviced ready for use on land or at sea. Later known as HMS Vernon, the military site closed in 1995, and opened to the public as Gunwharf Quays after six years of reconstruction (which included the restoration of some of the surviving 18th and 19th-century Gun Wharf buildings). The landmark Spinnaker Tower, which also stands on the site, was opened a few years later.
From Visit Portsmouth:
Gunwharf Quays is home to over 90 famous brands all offering up to 60% off the regular retail price.
If you love to shop then there really is no better place than Gunwharf Quays; with famous brands including Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, Coach, Yankee Candle, Rituals, Hugo Boss, Mint Velvet and Joules. And when it’s time to relax you’ll find an array of bars, coffee shops and restaurants to tempt you from around the world, whether that's mouth-watering French cuisine at Brasserie Blanc, fresh seafood at Loch Fyne, a host of fine Italian dishes to choose from at Carluccio’s, or one of the many others.
If you want even more from your visit to Gunwharf Quays then there’s Vue Cinema, Hollywood Bowl, a contemporary art gallery, nightclub and casino.
Destination Bicester (town centre development as at 20th April 2013)
A lovely sunny day took me and my camera to Bicester Town to film the progress of Bicester town development as at 20th April 2013. I filmed on top of walls, bins, from fire escape passage ways and public pathways. The development is due to open later in 2013 with a Sainsbury and VUE cinema.
All filmed with a tripod and a Konova K2 slider on a Lumix GH2 with a 20mm lens.

LONDON TOUR | Walking London's Tottenham Court Road [4K]
#geekstreettravels #london #tottenhamcourtroad
Tottenham Court Road runs from the junction of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road to Euston Road. The name derives from the road's original use as a market thoroughfare from Oxford Street to the Manor of Tothele, roughly north of what is now Euston Road, it became well known for selling electronics and white goods in the 20th century, but has changed with some high end fashion stores and high street brands, along with a cinema. Some of the electronics stores to still exist and its worth popping in to take a look.
The road is served by three stations on the London Underground—from south to north these are Tottenham Court Road, Goodge Street and Warren Street—and by numerous bus routes.
The tour is a first person perspective from Tottenham Court Station, crossing from the junction of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road over to the start of Tottenham Court Road. The walk takes you down the road, displaying the many new and old shops and down to the end opposite Warren Street Station and at the junction of Euston Road.

Plot outline
The Great Great Uncle of Producer & Writer Matthew Lightstone.
A Brief History
Pte. Ralph Howells, born 20th November 1898, eldest son of Blanche and Thomas Howells came from a modest mining family in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
Attending school in their local village of Lydbrook, Ralph would have left at a young age to start work in one of the several coal mines that were dotted along the valley.
At the age of 16 on the 5th December 1914 Ralph enlisted at the Drill Hall in Hereford, volunteering for overseas action. Like many young men at the time Ralph would have been captivated with the heroic status he would gain fighting for his country and the chance to travel abroad, anything to escape the dangerous job of coal mining.
Due to Ralph's mining experience he spent the majority of his army career in Britain with the 2nd (Reserve) Battalion The Herefordshire Regiment, where he started in Aberystwyth, moving onto Billericay where he helped build North London defences and then ending up in Lowestoft in November 1915.
Ralph was then transferred to the 1st/5th Battalion The Cheshire Regiment on the 27th July 1916 and left from Southampton the same day.
As a Pioneer Ralph's job was to build and repair sections of trenches throughout the night. During his shift on the 8th September 1916 Ralph and four other men who were working in a communication trench were buried alive when a shell fell into it. Ralph's body was never found and he was reported missing presumed dead.
Ralph was only 17 when he was killed yet his memory lives on. He is commemorated on the Thiepval War Memorial in France and in his local town of Ruardean.
