Gang film Blue Story banned from Vue cinemas after mass brawl outside screening

Blue Story, a BBC-backed gang film, has been banned from Vue cinemas following a mass brawl involving youths armed with knives and machetes outside a screening in Birmingham.

Brotherhood gangster film axed after shock STABBING in the eye before cinema screening

The attack happened at around 11pm on August 31 at Vue cinema in Stratford.

A man refused to show ID to see Brotherhood, a 15 certificate film about gangster warfare in London.

He lashed out when a rival gang arrived spawning a fight between 20 people.

A 28-year-old employee tried to flee from the violence but lost one of his eyes after a thug attack him.
A witness reported: “[The group] got riled up and started yelling then they saw another gang turn up.

“They started hitting on each other and one pulled out a knife.

“A guy tried to escape over the counter and the knifeman chased him round all our staff.

Brotherhood is the third film in Clarke's crime drama, with cast member Adam Deacon not appearing after harassing his co-star.
The witness continued: “People were throwing fire extinguishers and using signs to hit each other with. There was popcorn flying everywhere.

“This man got hit in the eye with something and it took his eye out completely.

“It’s traumatised us. He had blood running all down his shirt.”

“There were two security guards for over 20 people, they were powerless to stop anything.

“We are terrified and some are refusing to come back to work until there is proper security and are refusing to work if that film is showing.
former staff member added: “One of the staff working there was brave enough to tell me what happened and that they were all gagged from speaking out about it.

“They haven’t been giving any time off or counselling for what they witnessed and I can only imagine this to be a distressing thing to see.”

The Met Police are investing the case but are yet to make any arrests

Room with a Vue

We are really pleased to announce our new venue for the Pretty Vacant project, situated in a large empty unit space at the Warner Village.

Originally planned for Stoke Town, we faced many months of delays due to logistical problems, however having since moved to Newcastle Town we have had instant access to the new location and have began work immediately. Our large scale celebration of local people has had a terrific response with many people enquiring in how to take part.

Over the coming weeks we will be embarking on a large graffiti back drop and photographing the locality, which will become a vast floor display for our Local Hero cut outs to sit on.

The public are invited to view the work in progress through the windows and we hope to open up the space for a celebration event when the project is complete.

Fatal knife attack on London teenager seen in CCTV video footage

In this CCTV film released by the Metropolitan police, 15-year-old Alan Cartwright is seen cycling along Caledonian Road in Islington, north London, with three friends on Friday evening when three suspects push them off their bikes and one stabs Alan in the chest.

Footage released by the Metropolitan police shows three men walking along Tulse Hill in Brixton, south London, on Sunday 7 February before a passing moped approaches them.

A group of up to 20 people looked on as a gang punched and kicked a teenage asylum seeker at a bus stop in south London, neighbours have said.
Eight people are being questioned by police on suspicion of the attempted murder of the Kurdish Iranian victim following Friday's attack in Shrublands Avenue, Croydon.
Those involved in the attack have been labelled scum by the local MP.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan also condemned the attack.
Detectives made three further arrests on Sunday two men aged 23 and 26 and a 17 year old girl.
Five others who were arrested on Saturday four men and one woman, all aged 20 or 24 remain in custody.
A 20 year old woman arrested on Saturday has been released with no further action, the Metropolitan Police said.
One resident of Shrublands Avenue said: There was a massive group coming up from The Goat pub.
You couldn't see who was hitting who. There was one person, the one who ended up in hospital, he was getting absolutely beaten up.
