vyas gufa mana village
vyas gufa mana village badrinath This village, located at a distance of 3 kms from Badrinath temple is the last Indian Village situated in the Indo-China Border and has gained historical importance on account of Vyas Caves. This village, located on the banks of River Saraswati (only place where this river can be seen) is very beautiful. Vyas Maharishi (Sage), author of Mahabharat is believed to have lived in the caves. These are named after him. It was in these caves, Vyas Maharishi composed the Mahabharata. This was done at the orders of his mentor Kalpatru Maharishi who appeared in his dream.
Mahabharata depicts the history of Pandavs, Kauravs including Kurukshetra War and most importantly Bhagawad Gita authored by Krishna (reincarnation of Vishnu). Ganesh, the son of Shiv & Parvati, is said to have helped Vyas Maharishi in putting this epic in the written form, the beginning of education in written form.
In addition to Mahabharat, Vyas Maharishi composed 18 puranas (legendary stories), Brahma Sutras and classified the Hindu Vedas into 4 parts ; Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva. It is only in this cave that Adi Shankara is believed to have met Vyas Maharishi and discussed his Bhashyam (explanatory notes) for Brahma Sutras.
Vyas Gufa- It is the rock cave of the saint Ved Vyas, he was the writer of Mahabharata who is believed to have lived in the caves. It was in these caves where Vyas Maharishi composed the Mahabharata. These are named after him Rock formation inside the Vyas Gufa appears to resemble the orderly stacking of palm leave manuscripts; oldest writing material and is worshipped as Vyas Pusthak. Vyas Maharishi is also considered, by some, as reincarnation of Vishnu.

Bhim Pul at Mana Village near Badrinath
Bheem Pul is located in Mana, the last village located on the border with Tibet. It is 3 km from Badrinath and is built over Saraswati River. It is believed that one of the Pandava brothers called Bheema for his beloved wife Draupadi made this natural bridge. According to Hindu mythology, this was the place from where the Pandavas started their journey to heaven called Swargarohini. During this journey, Draupadi was unable to cross the river then Beema lifted a huge rock and placed it between the gorge. Later on, it was known as Bheem Pul. This bridge is located opposite to Vyas Gufa in Mana Village and offers an enchanting view of the pristine valley.
अपनी आंखों से देख लें इस जगह को जहां गणेश जी ने महाभारत लिखी थी| Ganesh Gufa | Badrinath
#manavillage #GaneshaCave #GaneshGufa
This is where Lord Ganesh took down the Mahabharata as dictated by Veda Vyasa. He had to write only after understanding everything that he heard. This was a counter condition when he demanded that Veda Vyasa should not stop dictating.

Badrinath Vlog, Hanuman Gufa and Baba Mani Dass
Very interesting, easy going, foul mouthed (abusive) Hermit Baba Mani Dass at Hanuman Gufa near the Youth Hostels, Badrinath. This one is one of the many Hanuman Cave (Gufa) that one can find in Badrinath. Don't bother looking for the oriniginal one as that surely is debatable. Which trip of Hanuman in which yuga (Ages) and based on which tale, legend or lore, written in which book, scripture or epic.???

Beautiful View of Sri Vyas Gufa / Sri Vyas Cave
At a distance of 5.5 km from Badrinath Bus Stand, Vyas Cave is an ancient cave located on the banks of Saraswati River at Mana village in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Mana is the last Indian village situated at Indo-China Border.
Vyas Gufa is believed to be the place where sage Vyas composed the Mahabharata epic with the help of Lord Ganesha. He also composed 18 Puranas, Brahma Sutras and four Vedas. Maharishi Vyas statue is installed in the caves and worshiped by the pilgrims. A distinct feature of the temple is the roof which resembles the pages from the collection of his holy scripts.
There is also an interesting story related to the place that explains the broken tusk of Lord Ganesh. When Vyas was composing Mahabharata, he needed someone to take down his dictation and asked the learned Ganesha for the same. Ganesh agreed but he had a condition - that Vyas would not stop even for a moment or else he would stop writing and leave. Vyas dictating as fast as he could and Ganesh bent down over the script pages. Finally, his reed pen broke. To which, he broke off a part of his tusk to be used as a pen thereon.
Ganesha cave is also located in nearby area below the Vyas cave. Near this temple, is a natural rock that rests over the river known as Bhim pul. Further 3 km upward climb from Vyas Gufa is another cave called the Muchukand Gufa. It is associated with the story of Lord Krishna who had tactfully led to the demise of the demon Kaal Yawan here by Sage Muchukand. It is said that the footprints of Lord Krishna can still be seen in the cave.
