Mallacoota Bunker Museum Prior to the Bush Fires November 2019
Videoed a month before the bush fires ravaged Mallcoota, we go exploring for the transmission Bunker which was the WW2 twin of the Mallacoota receiving Bunker which now houses the museum. The airstrip was used by helicopters during the fires until the smoke made visibility so bad that many were evacuated by the Royal Australian Navy. Video of Mallacoota airstrip taken on Jan 1st 2020
Lake Boga secret RAAF Bunker Get Reel Productions 2017
Lake Boga is home to several World War II airforce bunkers. They were used by the RAAF and still stand today as testament to their strength. The one we visited is untouched and not as well known by tourists. Another, in a different location, has been restored and can be experienced by visiting the Catalina Museum in Lake Boga.
Mallacoota Weekend - February 2018
We kicked off the year with a weekend away around the small coastal town of Mallacoota in Victoria. We had a little bit of rain on the Saturday morning but it had passed by lunch time. This made track conditions just right for us, and the rest of the weekend weather was perfect. Over the two days we drove a variety of tracks with lots of interesting and challenging obstacles which included old unused fire trails to steep powerline tracks. On the Sunday morning our club had arranged a private opening of the Historic WW2 Bunker and Museum, which was really interesting and great to see. Enjoy!
